My cultural identity, as I know is Mexican American because both my parents are born in Mexico and I was born here. I can also be defined as a Chicana because that is another way used to call a Mexican American. My culture can be seen in so many different ways like for example it can be seen in food, music, religion, dance, art, festivals, and even more. Most of these traditions have changed a little bit over time as they were brought to the U.S. What I mean by that is that some of those traditions were brought from Mexico, and had a little change into them because they were combined with some traditions that have already been here in the U.S.

When I think about the culture I come from, I immediately think about my Japanese and Filipino lineage. I also think about Hawaii, and how growing up there has shaped me today. This are only parts of the equation to my cultural identity. No matter what nationality or country you grow up in, each person is exposed to different ideals that mix in with their background culture. I would like to look at my cultural identity by looking at some traditions in Hawaii, the organizations I’ve been a part of, and my own unique personal identity. Each of these has played a role in shaping my own cultural identity.

What makes my cultural identity different from others? No one has the exact same culture as somebody. What culture means to me is, the way a person is raised or things around them that makes them the way they are. It is a part of a person’s self-conception and self perception. My cultural identity is a unique one based on the influences of Religion, Education, and Sports.

Cultural identity is the natural feeling you have from belonging to a group. Cultural identity is a lot of things but what is most influential to me are holidays, and family activities because these concepts stick out to me the most. Cultural identity is something that everybody has whether they realize it or not, they just need to understand it, and find themselves within their culture.

There are physical things about me that has made me what I look like and also things that I feel or think and beliefs that make me who I am.

I belong to many different cultural groups, and my identity is a complex web of competing and conflicting beliefs, experiences, and characteristics. My identity is not only complex, but also dynamic, as the experiences I have change who I am.

Religion can be characterized by the existence of belief and faith that something is acceptable and should be practiced without questioning or confirmation. In the Hindu religion, it can be confirmed that the way many things are characterized and the belief in the consequences of a person’s conduct can be categorically defined as faith. For instance, in Hindu, there is a belief that the individual soul is not created, but it has been in existence and will continue to exist. Just like in other religions whereby the actions of a person reaps the consequences in the next phase of life, Hindus, however, believe that the souls will one-day comeback to life in a different form, which utterly depends on the consequences of its actions before the rebirth. The kind of body that the soul will inhabit after that is determined by Karma, which is a term used to refer to actions

What is cultural identity? What is my cultural identity? We can go into my mind to see what we can find. I am a calm, easygoing, relaxed, athletic,and a somewhat independent latin-american person. I believe this because I am easy to get along with, I sometimes want to do things on my own, and I exercise and play sports. Since I am latin, I have to speak spanish at home or around my family, but I speak english outside of home. My parents don’t speak english, so they use me as a translator wherever we go. This is a somewhat representation of my cultural identity. We will find out the rest of my cultural identity with a representation of my rosary, watching Remember the Titans, having some food.

Cultural identity is an individual’s self-perception of their identity. Cultural identity relates to one’s religion, nationality, gender, generation, etc. Some aspects of a person’s identity may be easily seen, however, some aspects lie deeper than skin color, accent, and clothing.

Cultural identity is derived from various aspects in one’s life, and it is what differentiates us from other people. No other person will ever be able to better exemplify our inherent and natural personal self-identity. Our culture is formed by not only our family history, but our life choices as well. Our lives are a reflection of the choices we have made, so we get to choose how we identify ourselves as well. Family, school, my country, and the year I was born in are all examples of what have built my cultural background. Family plays a big role in how I identify myself culturally, but my life experiences have equally constructed who I am.

Your language is important so you can communicate with people like you. Religion is really important because more than likely you won’t get along with another tribe that doesn’t believe what you believe or believes the opposite. Culture identity is such a beautiful and marvelous thing that exists in this world. There is so much diversity throughout culture making every person and culture truly unique. Some people believe they have no culture but in reality every single person belongs to a culture. From the way a person dresses to a person's beliefs and morals is all affected by culture. There are many things that makes up a person's identity but culture plays a huge role shaping and forming the person's identity. From the moment I was born into this beautiful culture that I'm part of today my culture has definitely helped me become who I am today
