For some people high school is a breeze, but for some it’s not. Sleeping Freshman Never Lie is a book about a boy named Scott and his first year of high school. His brother Bobby was never a good kid in school, so he didn’t have any advice to help him. He had no clue what to expect when walking into school the first day. Scott joined a lot of the school clubs including Student Council, the School Paper, and the Stage Crew. He had his two best friends with him all of the time until they started to go their own ways. When they went their separate ways he made different friends. He met Wesley and Lee, but these were people he would’ve never been friends with before. Lee was known to be really weird, and Wesley was scary to Scott. For someone who didn’t know what to expect about high school, he did a pretty good job handling everything. Bobby changed the most in Sleeping Freshman Never Lie because he went from acting tough to opening up about his personal problems, and he went from making bad decisions to switching his life around. …show more content…

Bobby had this huge secret that no one knew, so he acted extremely tough to hide this secret. Bobby hid this huge secret from his teachers by acting up in class. Once Bobby revealed to Scott that he couldn’t read, Bobby and Scott treated each other differently. “‘I learned that if I caused enough trouble, nobody would notice anything else. They never figured out how stupid I am’” (Lubar 225). This quote means with Bobby exposing this huge secret to Scott, Bobby could finally stop acting so tough around Scott.
