Summary Introduction

Introduction: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a waste product of cellular respiration. It is transported from systemic cells through veins of systemic circulation to the right side of the heart. Then, it is pumped into the pulmonary arteries and pulmonary trunk to enter pulmonary capillaries. Inside the pulmonary capillaries, carbon dioxide diffuses from the blood into the alveoli.
