Consider a thermometer in Fahrenheit scale and Celsius scale, both thermometers are immersed in a
certain fluid. (a) If the numerical readings are identical on both scales, what is the absolute temperature
of the fluid? (b) What is the fluid temperature if the Fahrenheit reading is numerically thrice the of the
Celsius Reading?
A temperature scale of certain thermometer is given by the relation
t = a ln p + b
where ‘a’ and ‘b’ are constants, ‘p’ is the thermometric property of the fluid used in the thermometer. If the ice point and steam point the thermodynamic properties are found to be 1.5 and 7.5 respectively what will be the temperature corresponding to the thermodynamic property of 3.5 on Celsius scale.
A thermometer reads 90C initially and is placed in a room of temperature 21C. After 2 minutes, the thermometer reads 60C. Determine when will the thermometer reads the room temperature.
