Introduction: Nutrients are substances that are used by organisms for energy, development, and to perform various bodily functions. Nutrients are classified into two types, namely macronutrients and micronutrients. Macronutrients are nutrients that are required in large amounts, for example, carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. There are nine macronutrients that are required by plants. Moreover, plants require six main elements of organic compounds and also potassium, calcium, and magnesium.
