Stock Transaction
Last month Joe purchased 100 shares of stock for $45.50 per share and paid his stock broker a commission that amounted to 2 percent of the total amount he paid for the stock.
Two months later Joe sold the stock for $47.92 per share and paid his stock broker another commission that amounted to 2 percent of the total amount he received for the stock.
Write a program that displays the following information:
• The amount of money Joe paid for the stock.
• The amount of commission Joe paid his broker when he bought the stock.
• The amount that Joe sold the stock for.
• The amount of commission Joe paid his broker when he sold the stock.
• The amount of profit or loss that Joe had after selling his stock and paying both broker commissions.

- Ron bought several acres of farm to grow and sell vegetables. Suppose that Ron wants to grow a maximum of two types of vegetables. Write a program that prompts Ron or the user to do the following: Enter the total farm area in acres. The number of vegetables (one or two) that the user wants to grow. If the user wants to grow trwo types of vegetables, then specify the portion,as a percentage, of the farm land used for each type of vegetable. Enter the seed cost, plantation cose, fertilizing cost, labor cost, for each acre. Enter vegetable selling price per acre. Output the total revenue. Output the profit/loss.arrow_forward(Simulation) Write a program to simulate the roll of two dice. If the total of the two dice is 7 or 11, you win; otherwise, you lose. Embellish this program as much as you like, with betting, different odds, different combinations for win or lose, stopping play when you have no money left or reach the house limit, displaying the dice, and so forth. (Hint: Calculate the dots showing on each die with the expression dots=(int)(6.0randomnumber+1), where the random number is between 0 and 1.)arrow_forwardSales Prediction The East Coast sales division of a company generates 58 percent of total sales. Based on that percentage, write a program that will predict how much the East Coast division will generate if the company has $8.6 million in sales this year. Display your prediction on the screen. Miles per Gallon A car holds 15 gallons of gasoline and can travel 375 miles before refueling. Write a program that calculates the number of miles per gallon (MPG) the car gets. Display the result on the screen. Stock Commission Kathryn brought 750 shares of stock at a price of $35.00 per share. She must pay her stockbroker a 2 percent commission for the transaction. Write a program that calculates and displays the following: The amount paid for the stock alone (without the commission). The amount of the commission. The total amount paid (for the stock plus the commission). Annual Pay Suppose an employee gets paid every two weeks and earns $2,200 each pay period. In a year, the employee gets…arrow_forward
- Tip, Tax, and Total Design a program that calculates the total amount of a meal purchased at a restaurant. The program should ask the user to enter the charge for the food, and then calculate the amount of a 15 percent tip and 7 percent sales tax. Display each of these amounts and the total. Tip, Tax, and Total Design a program that calculates the total amount of a meal purchased at a restaurant. The program should ask the user to enter the charge for the food, and then calculate the amount of a 15 percent tip and 7 percent sales tax. Display each of these amounts and the total.arrow_forwardSales TaxWrite a program that will ask the user to enter the amount of a purchase. The program shouldthen compute the state and county sales tax. Assume the state sales tax is 5 percent and thecounty sales tax is 2.5 percent. The program should display the amount of the purchase, thestate sales tax, the county sales tax, the total sales tax, and the total of the sale (which is the sumof the amount of purchase plus the total sales tax). Hint: Use the value 0.025 to represent 2.5 percent, and 0.05 to represent 5 percent.arrow_forwardProgram2: Box Office A movie theater only keeps a percentage of the revenue earned from ticket sales. The remainder goes to the distributor. Write a program that calculates a theater's gross and net box office profit for a night. The program should ask for the name of the movie, and how many adult and child tickets were sold. (The price of an adult ticket is $6.00 and a child's ticket is $3.00.) It should display a report similar to the following: NOTE: Movies' name should be enclosed within the double quotation. Movie Name: "Wheels of Fury" Adult Tickets Sold: 382 Child Tickets Sold: 127 $ 2673.00 $ 2138.40 $ 534.60 Gross Box Office Profit: Amount Paid to Distributor: Net Box Office Profit: Assume the theater keeps 20 percent of the gross box office profit.arrow_forward

Quantity discounts are given below: Quantity Discount 10–19 20% 20–49 30% 50–99 40% 100 or more 50% Design a program that asks the user to enter the number of packages purchased. The program should then display the amount of the discount (if any) and the total amount of the purchase after the discount.arrow_forwardDraw hierarchy charts or flowcharts that depict the programs described below. Sales TaxDesign a hierarchy chart or flowchart for a program that calculates the total of aretail sale. The program should ask the user for:– The retail price of the item being purchased– The sales tax rateOnce these items have been entered, the program should calculate and display:– The sales tax for the purchase– The total of the salearrow_forwardHide Assignment Information Instructions The civil engineering department has asked you to write a program to compare three different designs of water towers shown in the diagrams below. The water towers are a cylinder topped with a half sphere. The engineers want to find the design that has the highest volume. The radius of the sphere and the radius and height of the cylinder for each of the three projects will need to be input by the user. The formula for the volume of a Sphere is:V = 4/3 π r3The formula for the volume of a Cylinder is:V = π r2 h Write two functions that will calculate the volume of a sphere and a cylinder respectively. Then, use these functions to write a program that will find the design with the largest volume. Hint: Remember that the tower only consists of a half sphere.arrow_forward

Salesperson's Commission Calculator (Nr 1, Page 408) Create an application that lets the user enter a salesperson's revenue sale and the rate of commission paid by the company, and display the commission earned. For example: • If a salesperson sells $100,000 in revenue while working with a company that pays 5 percent of the revenue, his/her commission check will be $5,000. • if a salesperson sells $100,000 in revenue while working with a company that pays 8 percent of the revenuo, his/her commission check will be $8,000. The program should have a method named CalculateDisplayCommission that receives the revenue sale by a salesperson and the commission percentage as arguments, and calculates and displays the commission earned by the salesman. See examples below: Salesperson's Commis. |Salesperson's Commis. 100000 Revenue Sale: 100000 Revenue Sale: Commission Percentage: Commission…arrow_forward20. Random Number Guessing GameWrite a program that generates a random number in the range of 1 through 100, and asks the user to guess what the number is. If the user’s guess is higher than the random number, the program should display “Too high, try again.” If the user’s guess is lower than the random number, the program should display “Too low, try again.” If the user guesses the number, the application should congratulate the user and generate a new random number so the game can start over.Optional Enhancement: Enhance the game so it keeps count of the number of guesses that the user makes. When the user correctly guesses the random number, the program should display the number of guesses. For example: • If an item’s wholesale cost is 5.00 and its markup percentage is 100 percent, then the item’s retail price is 10.00.• If an item’s wholesale cost is 5.00 and its markup percentage is 50 percent, then the item’s retail price is 7.50. The program should have a method named calculateRetail that receives the wholesale cost and the markup percentage as arguments and returns the retail price of the item.arrow_forward
