Expert Solution & Answer
To determine
The precautions that a person must take when welding around non welder workers.
Explanation of Solution
The precautions that a person must take when welding around non welder workers are as follows.
- Inform and advice the non welder people around to keep away from the arc and the sparks produced.
- Ensure that other people do not touch or come in contact with the cables, hoses and extension cords.
- Keep the work place clean and tidy and ensure no debris and scrap material is left behind after completion of work.
- The non-welder workers must stay away from the fans and the blowers that are used to blow away the fumes of the welding process.
- Ensure that the non welder do not come in contact with the hot surface and objects that may cause burns and injuries.
- The welder person must make use of welding curtains whenever possible.
- The welder must ensure that the fabrication is stable and does not fall.
These are the steps that are necessary to be taken in order to ensure the safety of the people around the welding area who may not be familiar with the welding operation and its effect.
