Introduction:
When the color of a mineral is made to show in powdered form, it is known as a streak. The streak of a particular mineral can be obtained by rubbing it over a streak plate and then observing the mark left by rubbing the mineral. The minerals having a metallic luster produce a dark and dense streak whereas the minerals having nonmetallic luster produces a light-colored streak.
