The phrase "Benign by design" is often associated with green chemistry. In your own words, what does this phrase mean in relation to green chemistry?
Greenwashing is a major problem. Companies will say they are using practices that benefit the environment while really not taking any steps to do so. An example is Terracycle - a company that is supposedly able to recycle non-recyclable plastics and by-products - but which went over a year without collecting products from any of their customers. How can consumers navigate the labels to determine if products are actually sustainable.
Determine whether the statements are true or false and could you please leave a short explanation in order for me to understand? Thank you so much!
