Chapter 1, Problem 2PE
Program Plan Intro
chaos
Program Plan:
- Declare a main function. Inside the main function,
- Print the statement
- Get the value from the user
- Traverse the value of “x” through “for” loop until “x” reaches “10”.
- Evaluate the value of “x”.
- Print the value of “x”.
- Call the main function.

Using Eclipse:
Implement a program that directs a cashier how to give change. The program has two inputs: the amount due and the amount received from the customer. Display the dollars, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies that the customer should receive in return. In order to avoid roundoff errors, the program user should supply both amounts in pennies, for example 274 instead of 2.74.
Use labels for each currency when you display.
Write a program that reads in five integers using loops and then determines and printsthe largest and smallest integers in the group. Use only the techniques you have learnt so far, andmake sure that the program only uses three variables. (Hint: use two of the variables to hold thecurrent largest and smallest integers.)

- Run this program and show the output. Thank youarrow_forwardWrite a program that converts an input inch(es) into its equivalent centimeters. Take note that one (1) inch is equivalent to 2.54 cms.arrow_forwardThis assignment does not exactly match the one in the textbook on which it is based. I don't want any counter-controlled loops in your solution. Your solution should be able to detect when the accuracy isn't improving and then display the results of the work (as outlined below): Look at Programming Exercise **5.25 in the textbook on approximating the value of π. It is described as: π = 4 ( 1 - 1/3 + 1/5 - 1/7 + 1/9 - 1/11 + ... + (-1)^(i+1)/(2i-1) ) Notice that Java has the best possible value of π that can be stored as a type double available as Math.PI (part of the java.lang package). See how close you can get to the best value of π using a loop with the above technique. Notice that the above implies you are testing the value of your own estimate as it approaches the best value available in Java (as a type double). This would not be a pre-determined, counter-controlled loop. You are testing the results (sentinel-controlled) until you reach a value with the minimum discrepancy…arrow_forward
- Can you put also the output please, thank you very much!arrow_forwardWrite a program that simulates car racing, as shown in Figure 9.29b–d. The car moves from left to right. When it reaches the right end, it restarts from the left and continues the same process. Let the user increase and decreasethe car’s speed by pressing the Up and Down arrow keys.arrow_forwardModify the program below to implement exclusive-or (XOR) in Python. AsPython does not natively implement XOR, you will need to implement this by creating an expression using a combination of and, or, and not. Determine what this expression is, and put it in the code below (where “fill in your code here” is written). The starter code below includes the True/True and True/False cases. You should also include the False/True and False/False cases. As a reminder, XOR is only True if exactly one of the inputs is True. Other ways ofthinking about this is that it is True only if one input or the other input is True, but not both. Yet another way of thinking about this is that the result is only True when the inputs are different from each other. SAMPLE STARTER CODE:a = Trueb = Trueresult = # fill in your code hereprint("True XOR True is " + str(result))a = Trueb = Falseresult = # fill in your code hereprint("True XOR False is " + str(result))# Continue for the False/True and False/False…arrow_forward
- Can you try to go more in detail about why the inner loop runs n-1 times? I'm still not quite getting how the loops workarrow_forwardA criticism of the break and continue statements is that each is unstructured. These statements can always be replaced by structured statements. Describe in general how you’d remove any break statement from a loop in a program and replace it with some structured equivalent. [Hint: The break statement leaves a loop from within the body ofthe loop. Another way to leave is by failing the loop-continuation test. Consider using in theloop-continuation test a second test that indicates “early exit because of a ‘break’ condition.”] Use the technique you developed here to remove the break statement from the program of Fig. 5.13.arrow_forwardA criticism of the break and continue statements is that each is unstructured.
