In my opinion, the understanding I had of PR in comparison to my respondents understanding was very similar. Question

After asking three people what public relations was, I realized all of their statements began with "isn't it kinda like when..." They then followed it up with examples of what they assumed it to be. A few examples were helping a celebrity word their statement after doing something that could ruin their career, marketing, advertisement, and a thing that businesses should have. All of their answers were on spot for the most part. Almost everyone was unsure in the beginning but after thinking they were able to give me an example of what they thought it was. No one was able to tell me what PR practitioners do. I honestly am not quite sure what they do myself. Based on my understanding, PR is a combination of things and not just one singular thing. PR deals with sponsorships for athletes, marketing and advertising for a company, and so much more. I would say that they could be the face of the company for help finding the face of their company.
