In this assignment, my group had come up with 10 interview questions about the United States Constitution. I choose to interview 3 persons that I know. The first person that I interview is my friend Edin, he is a college student. The second person is my uncle Prewes, who is a former lawyer. The last person that I interview is my friend, Jacob, who is also a college student. The first question is how many amendments are there? Only 2 out of 3 person manage to get the right answer, which is 27 amendments. The second question is what is the supreme rule of the land? This time all 3 person answer “the Constitution”. The third question asks how many articles are there in the Constitution. Only one person answer with 7 articles and other people said
I agree with how Twain resolved his conflict with Brown for two reasons. I agree because if Twain was to speak up and tell him to quit being a bully, Brown wouldn't have listened and would just keep on doing what he is doing. In the story, it states ”Brown gave no intimation that he had heard anything. But that was his way he never condescended to take notice of an under clerk.” This quote helps me prove that Twain solved the conflict in the right way because Brown sought himself as too good to hear or treat anybody lower than him in a good way. Brown was all over himself and Twain taught him a lesson.
The U.S. Constitution consists of seven original articles and 27 amendments. The first three articles of the Constitution define the role of the president, the Supreme Court, and the role of the bicameral Congress.
The Constitutional is centered around power and where that power comes from. The enumerated powers established in Article 1, Section 8 have also given Congress the power to carry out laws in order to follow previously established powers. Governments stretch and bend problems in such a way that they will fit under the enumerated powers of the Constitution. All the enumerated powers have a list of adjunct statute not stated in the strict interpretation of the power. The Necessary and Proper Clause authorizes Congress to pass laws and the adoption of theses laws prompt questions. Examples of questions would be: “How strong must the means-end connection between the primary policy and the secondary rule be?” or “ What are the side effects of this law and how does it impact society?” Laws passed under the clause are placed under judicial review which determines if it applies under the Constitution.
My artifact is exam one which shows competency in many areas of American government. The Constitution is a document that shares the rules and basic procedures of the land, as indicated by the answer to question four. This document was created because the first form of a constitution (The Articles of Confederation) failed. The goal was to have enough power to rule on a national level, but not so much power that it removed fundamental rights. One way this was accomplished was by dividing the power into three branches. The three branches of government are the legislative branch, the executive branch, and the judicial branch. If you reference question number eight of the artifact, you can see which article (section) of the Constitution refers

Mark Twain, one of the most famous and influential American writers, was born in Hannibal, Missouri on November 30, 1835 and died April 21, 1910. Born Samuel Langhorne Clemens, he eventually adopted his famous pseudonym in 1863. Shortly after his father's death in 1847, when Clemens was twelve, his father passed away. After his father death, he applied for an apprenticeship at the local-printing shop. While working in the printing shop, Twain learned the skills required to be a printer and developed an aptitude for witty short essays and responses. Mark Twain was enthralled by his opportunity to develop his skills as a printer, and later he realized that he had a unique talent for writing. By working as an apprentice printer, he
In the article “The Mesmerizer,” by Mark Twain in his autobiography, Twain tells us a story when he was a teenager. In 1850, there was an exciting event taking place in the village Hannibal. A mesmerizer named Simmons came to town to advertise his show. Simmons has a subject in his show named Hicks. Fifteen year old Twain participates in this show that Simmons promised marvels to his audience, the townspeople. Twain usurps Hicks’s place stealing the spotlight with a lie. Although Twain became the show, the temporary fame that Twain receives is lost years later and continues to bite him back even after many years. Just as Twain is to blame for being carried away with his own fame that was built on a lie, those who were at the
In Mark Twain’s “Corn-Pone Opinions” essay he makes a valid point in the manner that he observes the tendencies humanity has to follow social trends and not differentiating themselves from one another and more or less playing follow the leader. Twain goes on to say “… that it’s born of the human being’s natural yearning to stand well with his fellows and have their inspiring approval and praise…”. Twains argument is that it is not in our nature to be unique and different, we want to follow others and be accepted by others. According to Twain we play copycat, he plainly states “we are creatures of outside influences; as a rule we do not think, we only imitate”. Twain is very forthcoming in this essay, he makes clear to his audience about his
Mark Twain, in his essay¨, The lowest Animal¨,(1896), Mark Twain argues that human beings are not on the same ¨level with other animals¨.He claims that humans are the most lowest animals in the world. He announced that humans are the most idiotic creatures and that humans starts wars for no reason. Mark Twain suggest the problem for humans, that they are reveal as the lowest animal. Mark Twain explain the humans for being shelfless, cold hearted and less intellligent then the rest of the animals. To his audience Mark Twain revealed the humans problems not being reasonable with mankind. Fur the audience to know humans weakness to mankind.
The townspeople were grateful and relieved to have the children back in their lives because they truly believed they had lost them forever. I would have reacted the same way as the village because losing something you care deeply about has a major effect on your life. Twain’s descriptive detail helped me imagine the town’s emotions. The emotions expressed in this passage remind me of many television dramas where the child goes missing and is found without any physical harm done to them. I’m certain the children will never truly understand the worry they had caused. All of the children should have been more considerate and thought about the consequences they would face in the future. This passage shows me that the town cares for the children
