The Civil Rights Movement was centered on the idea of the equal, fair, and constitutional treatment of African Americans in the United States. The movement features some of history’s most prominent figures, including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Rosa Parks. Throughout the movement, activists utilized protests, marches, boycotts, and strikes in attempts to change public opinion and governmental action on African Americans. The Great Society was not a misguided and ill conceived but rather an attempt to help the economic situation of the time. There were struggle for black equality, housing discrimination, job discrimination, poverty and President Lyndon B. Johnson had to look at how to help improve American lives and the economy. The Great Society programs were launched in the 1964-65 to eliminate poverty and racial injustice. As a result, the number of Americans living below the poverty line dropped from 22.2% to 12.6% between 1963-1970 (source). This dramatic reduction in poverty was the combination of the different acts passed by the Congress to change the role of the federal government to benefit the lives of millions of Americans. Great society was a reform program and an idealistic call promoted by Lyndon Johnson in 1964 for improved environmental, conservation, racial, educational, and health programs. Johnson wanted to build a better American by government 's help and funding. In 1965, Congress passed many Great Society measures, including Medicare, civil rights legislation, and federal aid to education. It represented government began to reform the society and started to play a more significant role in the country.

The Civil Rights Movement. By 1950, their mission was to change federal and relief programs for the military through Civil Rights. Thus, the Civil Rights Movement was a time that African American had the chance to demonstrate for political and social injustice. This also marked the time in history that allowed civil right leaders and political catalyst to move forward with the voting rights act of 1965 and the Civil Rights of 1968. This changed the mission of the Urban League to focus more on the March on Washington and the Poor Campaign of 1968.

The civil rights movement era was a time of turmoil and struggle for the rights of many parties. One of those major parties was the African Americans, and although the process was long, they have finally won their battle for equality in 1964.

World War II was one of the worst events recorded in all of mankind. It involved the Axis, containing the Nazis, Italians, and the Japanese, and the Allied forces, including America and the UK. The war lead to the combined ended lives of over 60 million people, 3% of the world's population at that time. The end of the war was marked with the Potsdam conference. This meeting was held at Cecilienhof, home of Crown Prince Wilhelm Hohenzollern. The Potsdam conference took place from the 17th of July, 1945, to the 2nd of August, 1945. It involved the three largest world powers of that time, Joseph Stalin, leader of the Soviet Union, Winston Churchill, the Prime minister of Britain, and Harry S Truman, the President of the United States, all meet at this conference to discuss the ending of the war. The Potsdam conference of 1945 marked the end of one of the largest wars in all of history, WWII, and was an agreement between the largest leaders of that time, Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, and Harry S. Truman, discussing Germany post-war, land distribution, and other future matters on the topic of war.

The Civil Rights Era, which took place during the years of 1955 till 1968, was indeed the movement that gave African Americans the push to achieve their first major accomplishments of the decade. The Civil Rights Movements goals were to break down the walls of legal segregation in public places, achieve equality and justice for African Americans, and to help make African Americans become more self-conscious when standing for all their interest. This movement not only benefited men, but it also benefited women. African American women played a large role in the history of the civil rights era.

The Square Deal created by Theodore Roosevelt to help the working class and deplete the power of the corporations and big business. It’s 3 basic goals were to conserve natural resources, control corporations and protect the consumer. He also formed the Department of Commerce and Labor to help out the workers. Establishing National Parks was a must for Theodore Roosevelt because he felt nature existed to help us.
