Question

Macroscopic Cellular Transport

  1. Drawing of egg in distilled water
  2. drawing of egg in Normal Saline Solution
  3. drawing of egg in super saline solution

observation:

B. Macroscopic Cellular Transport
Objectives:
1. To examine and observe cellular transport in gross, macroscopic method.
2. To compare the result after the cell samples are soaked in distilled water,
normal saline solution and 2% NaCl solution.
3. To relate the results obtained from macroscopic analysis to microscopic
technique in Exercise 2.
Materials:
.
●
3 chicken eggs
Vinegar
Distilled water
Normal Saline Solution
ZUIRUA
2% NaCl Solution.
3 beakers, 50 ml
3 tablespoons
Methods:
1. Put each egg in a beaker separately labeled with (DW for distilled water),
(NSS for normal saline solution) and (2% for 2% NaCl).
2. Add enough vinegar to cover the entire egg.
3. Allow the eggs to soak for 2 days.
4. After 2 days, examine each egg, if the shell is completely dissolved.
5. Once a rubbery membrane covering is exposed, take out the egg slowly by
the use of tablespoon.
6. Place each egg in a beaker containing distilled water, then the other egg to
beaker containing normal saline solution and the third to 2% NaCl solution.
7. Put the 3 eggs in a refrigerator and allow standing for 24 hours.
8. After 24 hours, examine grossly the appearance of each egg.
9. Compare the result of each.
