January 1, 2013 is the day my life changed. I'm from a small town in Florida where everybody knew everybody and everybody else's business. I knew everybody’s car, house, address, and about every phone number. It was safe to say that for the first thirteen years of my life, I travelled nowhere and didn't see anybody but the everyday faces in this town. I learned to love this town mostly because I was comfortable. I didn't have to worry about not knowing where I was going or not knowing people. It
“The best vacation ever!” my cousin Vicky screamed from the bed next to me. I was just trying to fall sleep, but she kept talking most of the night with her twin sister Emma. We all have the same age, and this is the first vacation we have without parents, aunts, and uncles around, telling us what to do. We arrived to Los Angeles, California at 11:00 pm, checked into the hotel and tried to rest. The next day we planned to drive around the city and wait for our friend Annette, who was coming
For the past three years, I have spent two weeks of my Summer break in the city of Espanola, New Mexico. According to KRQE News 13, Espanola is allegedly the most dangerous city in New Mexico, with one out of nine people having a severe chance of becoming a victim of a crime. The children of Espanola are the ones most affected by the devastating crimes taking place in their city every single day. Although we may come to believe that the one out of nine people is nothing more than a simple statistic

I have been on many vacations with my family over the past recent years of my life. I have been to Mexico near Cozumel, Florida in Disney World and even Houston Texas. My favorite vacation is the most recent one. I visited Chicago Illinois. I really enjoyed going out to eat at Michael Jordans Steakhouse, going to sightsee the Windy City and even going to watch a Chicago Bears game. I first walked into Michael Jordans and noticed how elegant it was being portrayed. I had honestly expected something
My love for traveling the world began at a young age. In fact, I was only an infant when I took my first vacation. When I was only 10 months old I took my first expedition to the land of Cancun, Mexico. Later, when I was 20 months old, we decided to go back to Mexico. I obviously don’t remember a whole lot, but I do know that that first trip was the beginning of my life journey for traveling the world. Over the years, my family and I have fallen in love with the beautiful scenes of Cancun, Mexico
One Good Time in Rocky Point Mexico Open road, blaring music, and a car full of eager college students holding onto the last glimpse of summer left. The destination ahead was Rocky Point Mexico, the soul of a good time and bright red sunburns. Going out of the country is definitely a humbling experience with a lot of unexpected lessons that come along with it. It was not my first time out of the U.S., however, every new trip closes with a few things learned and information to share with others planning
In fifth grade I was told I was going to Mexico for spring break, little did I know this vacation would be one of the most life changing experiences I have ever had. I have always been told to do thing for others and to put the less fortunate before myself. I live in a very Catholic household and my family is constantly going to serve at homeless dinners and work at local shelters but I was never truly changed by these experiences until my trip to Mexico. Through this experience I learned that sometimes
How many of you have a great life with freedom? Well I do and it's all because of the veterans. They served for us and gave us freedom, equal rights, and the right to travel. I would like to take a moment to thank all the Veterans for serving for our country I would like you all to know we all appreciate your sacrifices for the country's freedom and equal rights. I would like all of the veterans to know I respect the American flag and respect the National Anthem. I am a very thankful person and
some point in life everyone has to use a dictionary as a learning tool; either to study a new concept, learn a new word, or to translate from one language to another one. In my case, I had to use the dictionary for all those three things. The point is that I never thought a dictionary was going to have such a big impact on my learning experience. Back when I was 14 years old, I use to use a dictionary when I needed to write down a definition or just when a teacher told me to do it so. On the other
