Question

What is the high-frequency alleles of a polymorphic gene?

Expert Solution
Step 1

Alleles are the variant of the gene. DNA is comprised of various nucleotides that collect genetic information in genes. If two copies of the same alleles are present in an organism; its genotype is referred to as homozygous. If two different copies of alleles are present in an organism, its genotype is referred to as heterozygous. The genetic information is stored in 23 sets of chromosomes. The genetic code tells the sequence of the genetic information encoded in the proteins. The genes which encode for proteins are referred to as the tri-nucleotide units. They are considered as codons and single codon codes for a single amino acid.
