List the Professional Codes of Ethics in social research?
The Ethical considerations are those set of rules or procedures that would ensure that in the process of gathering information in research for the larger good of humanity, there is a need to protect the individuals who provide valuable perspectives in social research. Unlike other scientific research where the rules are relatively easier to impose, research on the human subjects or participants are not so easily accomplished. There are other related issues such as the risk of being identified, or being exposed for providing information on topics that are controversial or likely to provoke diverse opinions that needs to be examined. Research related to biomedical or animal subjects are procedural and much more complex and not so easy to resolve like those that are related to children, victims of abuse, substance abuse, sexual violence etc. There are issues related to legality etc in discussing topics connected to mental health, homelessness, perpetrators of crimes etc.
