Go-Back-N is a type of Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) protocol used in computer networks to provide reliable data transmission. It is an enhancement to the Stop-and-Wait ARQ protocol. In the Go-Back-N protocol, the sender is able to transmit a number of frames specified by a window size before waiting for an acknowledgment from the receiver. If an acknowledgment is not received for a frame, the sender retransmits all frames starting from the frame for which the acknowledgment was not received. This makes the protocol more efficient than the Stop-and-Wait protocol, as the sender does not need to wait for the acknowledgment for each frame transmitted.
