Introduction
Not all crime is violent and even though they aren't violence, it can effect someone's livelihood severely. This paper will define and examine fraud, theft of money, theft of intellectual property and identify theft, along with how they are defined by law enforcement. It will also summarize the impact it has on the victim and society, along with how local, state, and federal enforcement agencies interprets it.
White Collar Crimes
White collar crime corrodes the values and ethics in which people have in a society and it exists in many shapes and forms. The four categories consists of corruption, fraud, theft and manipulation and is considered to be an illegal act that is committed by non-physical means in order to obtain money or property for a business or personally. Fraudsters of white collar crimes range from any age group, income level and employment tenure. (Liew, Puah, Entebang 2011)

Social security cards should be kept in a secure place and only provided when absolutely necessary. When personal information is solicited, a response should not be provided and when typing in passwords on computers or at ATM's, the keypad should be shielded from being viewed by others. Mail should be collected promptly and if not home, a hold should be placed by the local postal service. Close attention to be focused on billing cycles and reviewing receipts to ensure accuracy. Any documentation othat contains personal information should be shredded and if not, the information should be kept in a secured area, along with installation of firewalls and virus detection software on home computers. Passwords should be complex and not easily guess and credit reports should be ordered once a year and reviewed to make sure that it contains only that individual's accounts and information.
