The information technology industry is growing at a rapid pace. Every business entity needs some form of IT support to ensure that business operations are continuously running. As an entity grows in size and revenue, the information system needed to support the entity needs to grow as well. Some businesses may not have enough resources to accommodate this expansion. Their building may be too small or they cannot afford to purchase the equipment. When this is the case, an organization will choose to migrate their network infrastructure to a cloud computing environment. Cloud computing allows for a company to implement a large scale network without having to incur expenses for modifying the building infrastructure. Cloud computing can offer …show more content…
These businesses will see the most benefit from using cloud technology. Furthermore, people involved in cloud computing can be organized into two groups as well; the cloud providers and the cloud user’s. The cloud user’s take resources from the cloud and utilize data storage. Cloud providers house the hardware or equipment for the cloud and also manage it. Ignoring the security concerns for cloud computing, it is very resourceful to large organizations. Specifically where the demand for processing power and data storage is constantly fluctuating. Configuring the cloud to absorb increased network traffic and processing jobs will eventually cause the cloud to be underutilized other times. Though a company has the option to pay per hour for computing resources (Stair &Reynolds 2018). This allows for the company to only pay for what they need and prove beneficial to overhead costs as the cost for renting processing power is much cheaper than owning it. Moreover, cloud computing is applicable in the aerospace industry. In the aviation industry, flight charts could be pushed to the cloud and then downloaded to an aircraft anywhere in the world. This could help pilots stay up date with the flight course and possibly make changes necessary. This could also inform them if they’re going to intersect any other flight paths and also changes in the weather patterns. Currier, G. (2011) also points out that the tracking and flight
Cloud Computing has very many benefits especially for the businesses. First, it leads to reduced technological costs. This is because unlike purchasing of a system which is expensive, the payment is only made upon usage and thus making it cheap (Marston et al 2011). Secondly, there are much reduced
All types of business models can find benefits from cloud computing infrastructure. As for example cost and flexibility from small business viewpoint whereas total IT problems can be solved for large companies. It will add advantages for companies, their employees, consumers, distributor where the overall business solution can be provided.
Cloud computing comes into focus only when you think about what IT always needs: a way to increase capacity or add capabilities on the fly without investing in new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing new software. Cloud computing encompasses any subscription-based or pay-per-use service that, in real time over the Internet, extends IT's existing capabilities. (Knorr, Gruman) With cloud computing, the company can save on time with the system not becoming overwhelming. I have talked to people in the IT department and every six months they have to dump old files to free space on the main server. Because of this, sometimes the system, our production tools, slows down and causes a chain of decrease work. A lot of the time, the server has to be service because of the increase of files. Due to the fact that our facility is the hub or central located facility, our server is overwhelmed with many files.
In statement, Alijabre writes “Cloud Computing can help business shift their focus to developing god business applications that will bring true business value.” To prove his point Alijabre, uses statistical data gathered from one of big leading providers in Cloud Services. “Although cloud computing has been recognized as a way to improve business, not all businesses are the same. So, is cloud computing for all businesses or is it more beneficial for a certain type of business with certain infrastructure already in place?” To make his argument, Alijabre uses Amazon Cloud Service to give us a better idea the use of cloud computing in business, and what can they do to improve it. Amazon has been one of the best providers of cloud services to individuals or to small businesses. “Also, it has more than 79 million active customer accounts around the world, along with around one and a half million active seller accounts.” Undoubtedly, Amazon is the leading source in providing cloud services. Amazon makes it easier for the consumers to access their data online, only thing needed
Cloud computing offers many advantages to both end users and businesses of all sizes. The advantages of cloud
Cloud computing is a new technology that comes with both benefits and drawbacks and like any new tech it can be used to great success when paired with steps to mitigate the security issues it raises. Cloud computing has become somewhat of an ambiguous term often having different meaning for different people. An article in InfoWorld (2013) stated, ”Cloud computing comes into focus only when you think about what IT always needs: a way to increase capacity or add capabilities on the fly without investing in new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing new software. Cloud computing encompasses any
The focus of cloud computing is providing with scalable and a cheap on-demand computing infrastructure with a good quality of service levels. The process of the cloud computing involves a set of network enabled services that can be accessed in a simple and general way. Cloud computing provides with a unique value proposition for any organization to outsource their information and communication technology infrastructure. Moreover, the concept itself provides with a value proposition for an organization as using the cloud saves on cost, resources, and staff, and business opportunities for the organization (Katzan). An extensive connectivity of
Business owners use three types of cloud service, public, private, and hybrid these clouds store their data and provide them with services. The benefits of these clouds are endless, additionally, they saves businesses time and money, promoting innovation, enhancing productivity, and improving communication while cloud hosting accelerate information sharing, like email, application hosting, web-based phone, and data storage (Griffith, 2013).
This research paper tackles the issues that faces Cloud Computing today and gives the experts and industry’s point of view on the matter. The aspects explored are the significant industry questions that have risen about the use of Cloud Computing, business value, organization impact, adaptability, limitations, initial cost of implementation, and the severe business security risks
In the current business world, organizations depend on cloud computing as a strategy of delivering IT services to clients. Cloud based platforms provide cost effective ways for organizations to maintain a high level of reliability and availability for applications. Cloud computing promotes business continuity and helps in organizations during disaster recovery (Molen & Brace, 2010).
Abstract. The Internet is permeating all aspects of our lives. This includes business and organizational endeavors as well as our personal lives. Businesses have become to depend on the Internet for their supply chain, advertising, and sales. E-commerce has experienced a tremendous growth in the last decade. Organizations are looking for new ways to leverage the Internet for business growth. Web Services is a growing technology in the Information Systems field. Data Management is also an ever-increasing endeavor for many organizations. The need for information is
Services such as, data storage and security, are provided by cloud computing over the internet. In cloud computing, users can pay for what they consume (Bisong & Rahman, An Overview of the Securtiy Concerns in Enterprise Cloud Computing, 2011). Cloud computing is an emerging information technology, which can make it easier for the users to manage their data. Cloud computing allows businesses to expand as new cloud-based models are being discussed and implemented as solutions (Bamiah & Brohi, 2011).
What precisely is Cloud Computing? And why are so many organizations switching to this new phenomenon? Cloud computing is defined as “the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices as a metered service over a network, typically the Internet” (Wikipedia). My goal in this paper is to discuss what exactly cloud computing is and how it is affecting how businesses work now. I will be discussing the top leading groups that have administered and executed “the cloud” in their daily routines for successful business. I also will be focusing on the advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing and how it can be beneficial
What is cloud computing? Cloud computing is a new process of managing, storing, and accessing data and programs over the internet instead of through a local computer hard drive or office network. (Griffith, 2016). A newer process developed in the early 2000’s to better help organizations as technology continues to evolve. Cloud computing is having the ability to access your information through an internet connection from anywhere at any time (Griffith, 2016). Of course, as with most all technology there are many advantages as well as disadvantages. Throughout this paper we will look at some of the top advantages and disadvantages that come with the process of utilizing cloud computing.
Cloud computing will continue to grow in popularity. As more businesses look for ways to cut cost, cloud computing will eliminate the need to have the storage space, money needed to purchase and upgrade equipment and to have the technical knowledge to handle problems that arise.
