"Artificial intelligence is the future of mankind; whoever becomes the leader in this sphere will become the ruler of the world.” Many think of a paranoid doomsday theorist pressing the issue of how he or she believes one-day artificial intelligence may destroy humanity while reading the above quote. However, such remarks are not to be taken lightly when relayed by one of the world’s most influential men and leader of the second most powerful military on the planet. According to the June 15, 2017, CNN article “Who Putin thinks will rule the world”, Vladimir Putin relayed this ominous message on a live, nationwide broadcast in Moscow. Putin’s remarks are the first of such comments made by any world leader. The remarks immediately gained attention from tech insiders and politicians alike. Tesla and Space-X CEO Elon Musk tweeted that “China, Russia, soon all countries w strong computer science. Competition for AI superiority at national level most likely cause of WW3 imo.” In “A.I Summoning the Demon” the idea that if left unchecked, artificial intelligence may pose ethical and moral dilemma’s for mankind. To the average person, A.I is nothing more than science fiction and falls pretty low on the list as the world’s greatest problems. Today, people are concerned with North Korea’s nuclear capabilities, global warming, giant asteroids, and dozens other outlandish cataclysms ending life as it is. However, it seems that most people have overlooked the single greatest threat to
To progress as a society, we must first look back at all the hardships faced throughout the years. We must look at the world leaders who were able to convince entire countries to eliminate millions of people different than themselves. We must understand the groups of extremists spreading terror and fear across the globe, and we must control people in power abusing their positions to benefit themselves and their agendas. Instead of ignoring these human mistakes, we must break them down and figure out how they could happen. Artificial Intelligence relies on our abilities to learn from our mistakes and mold our future in a way that will be beneficial and equal to all people. This paper will present the many benefits that A.I. will give
Recently, entrepreneur Elon Musk made major news when he warned on Twitter that AI could be “potentially more dangerous than nukes.” A few days later, a journalist asked me to respond to his statement, and I answered:
Artificial Intelligence has been a controversial topic in the science world for some time now. Major advancements have been made and predictions about what the future holds is being discussed (Quora). Scientists strive to make these machines more productive and intelligent, because they love watching their artificial intelligence improve, while others are not a fan of them whatsoever (Gaines-Ross). These people are skeptical of how these machines will be incorporated into our lives in the near future. Some worry that they will begin to take jobs away, while others adore the idea that automation will be implemented more within society (Kaplan 119). Currently, these machines are being programmed to occupy specific jobs in the workforce and will continue to be modified until they can take on more advanced occupancies in the future (Hayden). Within the next thirty years, artificial intelligence will slowly replace humans in many different aspects of the labor force, because most jobs are vulnerable to replacement through automation, or will be vulnerable to replacement soon. This will ultimately increase unemployment in the United States, leaving thousands of people without jobs.
Entrepreneur, Elon Musk, the owner of a rocket factory called SpaceX and salesmen of self-driving cars is eerie about the fact of artificial intelligence growing so fast that it could take over our world and destroy mankind as we know it. "It gave me more visibility into the rate at which technology is improving, and how technology is developing at an accelerating rate, far faster than people realize. Mostly because in everyday life you don’t see robots walking around" (Musk 118). Musk along with others that are against the thought of artificial intelligence have sometimes been treated like drama queens because many people however, like the thought of it.
Like all leaps in technological advancement, the rise of artificial intelligence has instilled unease in the general public. People who fear change will attempt to obstruct or delay it and in some cases prove to be beneficial, however in the case of “AI”, regulation of its research is still premature. Currently the definition of AI is "that activity devoted to making machines intelligent, and intelligence is that quality that enables an entity to function appropriately and with foresight in its environment"(Etzioni), and although we have been able to create machinery to mimic such a function, the required “cognitive” ability still hasn’t been developed.

It is the year 2560 and the Robot population has increased at a significant rate. They aren’t taking over quite yet, but they’re scarce and rapidly populating the Earth. These robots are extremely advanced and smart. They used to look exactly how humans do so you could’ve easily get your best friend confused with one; that is before they started disassembling. Ever since the early 2000s Robots have advanced, looking more and more like humans. However it wasn’t until the 2500’s where Robots started functioning as humans and taking our jobs. A large percentage of the human population in New York lost their jobs to robots and went into a huge depression. Humans were afraid of going up against Robots because they didn’t know what robots were capable of. However they soon came up with a conclusion to help one another.
Many find it to be one of the most useful reports of the pros and cons of artificial intelligence to date. The report is well written and relays the information in a manner that is easy to understand.
Robots or no robots, this is the question. Robots are useful and desirable, because the can free us, humans, from many boring, repetitive, and easy tasks, and they can take care of us all 24/7, and at a very low cost as well; but at the same time the widespread of robots raises the question of whose jobs robots will overtake and where these people that nowadays are performing the boring, repetitive, easy tasks are going to work. Given the fact that technology advances at a constantly accelerated speed, this question seems more relevant than ever. But is it so?
Many different inventors have created robots in order to solve different problems. Robots can be used to do things that humans cannot do. Robots do not need oxygen and they are stronger and faster than humans. Using robots, humans can overcome challenges.

The phenomena of computers have most certainly become an indispensable part of everyday life and have inevitably revolutionized the way in which we live. Although their presence is made visible in the small everyday aspects of life, computers more often than not mark their presence in the fields of mathematics and science, where numbers become the language in storing and working with vast quantitative data and information. It can then be said that in crunching numbers and processing such vast information, computers are able to exhibit forms of knowing and understanding. Does this mean then, that due their ability to process such large amounts of data, computers are able to attain a degree of knowledge and understanding which far surpasses the human mind? While there may be numerous and varying views to this claim,
It’s no secret that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is taking over the world, to be as dramatic as possible. With technology getting so advanced, it’s now a whole different ball game than it was before when the first smartphone was created, and with that comes more cons than pros. Such as how will the wealth be distributed and who’s accountable for problems? One question that remains as technology gets more advanced is, “How would people distribute all of the money made by machines?”. More jobs are being taken by the use of advanced technology. Unfortunately, people no longer can work for money meaning the only ones that make money are the people behind the technology. It has always been that a person is supposed to get the education they need to get the job they desire, when they obtain a job they get paid for the work. Moreover, when a person gets paid, they use the money for various purposes and distribute the money back into the economy, then the cycle repeats itself. If there is no money, how will people pay for what they need? Money has always been a way to buy and sell goods and services. Another issue out of many that arises, is that as AI gets more advanced who is to blame if the program is prejudice, or does harm to a human, or even when they spiral out of control? Are the creators to blame? And if so, which one? The problem only gets worse as the programs become more advanced.
Flying saucers piloted by alien robots, fully intent upon extinguishing all human life, sounds like something from a black and white movie. Whether on television, in books or real life, technology encompasses the daily lives of nearly every person on the planet, and for good reason. A (Very) Brief History of Artificial Intelligence states, “Robots, and artificially created beings such as the Golem in Jewish tradition and Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, have always captured the public’s imagination, in part by playing on our fears” (Buchanan). The world now has a closer relationship with machines than ever before, none of which have physically harmed anyone while exercising free will. Several of the world’s most brilliant minds have raised a red flag on artificial intelligence by declaring a possible threat to humanity and calling on powers, such as the United Nations, to ban further military advancements in the field. The pros of AI, by far, outweigh the cons and it is time for these scholars to adhere to what they do best and leave science fiction to bestseller lists of decades gone by.
My entire life, from what I can remember, has always been accompanied by technology or robots. From a young age I played the newest video game consoles: Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Nintendo DS, Gameboy. Along with those game consoles I would play on the computer we kept in my parents bedroom. I got my first flip phone in 5th grade with the IPhone 4 following 6th grade year. My very own laptop came 7th grade year. As you can see, I have had many experiences with a variety of consoles and devices. Technology has just always fascinated me, when I would play games, I would be left with a certain greed to play more and more. Now a days, you have robots like Amazon Alexa or Siri in the IPhones that can talk to you, do commands, and even answer questions. Every year companies make robots with more intelligence, but lets look at robots from a smaller standpoint.
