Taylor Swift is a worldwide known pop and country singer. She has always been someone I could look up to along with millions of other girls and boys. Swift has become very successful by simply disregarding all the foul comments critics have said to her, such as “you are foolish for trying to become famous” and set her mind on conquering every single dream she aspired. Unlike many country and pop stars that allow their fans to trash a city’s property during a concert, Taylor Swift’s requires anyone attending her concert’s to keep everything upscale and she does not tolerate any roughhousing. Music played a huge role in her life as she watched her grandmother, a professional opera singer, perform on many stages, she discovered at the early age of eleven, that she wanted to follow in her grandmother footsteps after she sang the Star Spangled Banner in front of a large crowd at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Taylor’s very supportive parents saw just how talented their daughter was, and wanted more than anything for her to fulfill her dreams, so they sold their farm and moved to Henderson, Tennessee. Less than three years after moving to Tennessee Taylor earned her first big break after she did an amazing job at the Bluebird Café in Nashville. All of the songs she wrote during math class, on her farm, and in the privacy of her own home were about to be heard by millions of people worldwide. Taylor, however, did not have to worry one bit. In 2006, her very first single “Tim McGraw” was released, in no time it was on the top ten running list for the country charts. The “Tim McGraw” single was only the start of her much accomplished career. In the same year towards the end of October Taylor released her first album called “Taylor Swift”, which sold more than 2.5 million copies. Her success continued to grow as singles from the album became extremely popular. Songs such as, “Our Song”, “Should’ve Said No”, “Teardrops on my Guitar”, and “Picture to Burn” all became number one country music hits almost immediately after the release. Taylor Swift received a lot of positive feedback from numerous critics, and as she became the number one youngest solo writer of the year Taylor started catching the eyes of many big label names. In 2007, millions watched her receive the Top New Female Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music along with the Horizon award. In 2008, Swift really took her singing career to the next level. She was nominated at the Grammys for the Best New Artist. In that same year she took home three other awards including, Female Vocalist of the Year, Favorite Female Country Artist, and the Horizon award once
