My interviews were conducted in three different locations and privately to ensure that all interviewees would feel comfortable. Each participant was asked the same question, which will be attached to show the format. I will first start with Interviewee one, a Haitian American Woman she will be called Participant A. Her answers were completely free and not at all coerced. The setting was relaxed and almost friendly. Her response to the first question was as a little child she expected that she would be a big time lawyer or Doctor. Once she moved to America for a better opportunity school is the only thing their parents are focused on. I then asked what are her thoughts on finding jobs, obtaining medical, and obtaining credit. The main questions I asked first was what were the expectation in her household. Her response was to be successful, she comes from a family of successful people. She explained how she knew she would go off to college and become a doctor. I then asked did she feel pressure to go to college Participant B, laughed as she explain how pressure would have be find it was more like forced. My next question was about religion, sexual orientation and race. I could that question was something she struggled with. Her response was being gay in a Christian family is hard and she felt she would have more support being in jail. She then explained how she is her mother’s only child a mother who is “perfect” a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She explained further how she wish could actually stop being gay just to make her family happier. I made sure to not let my judgment or thoughts show as I knew she felt like she is always being judged. I leaned close but not too close to signal that I am aware of what she is saying. I then asked who did she believe was the most and least privileged in society. “The most privileged is those with money mostly white people. The rich will always continue to get richer while the poor suffer” and the least are gay black men, they have no protection from the cruel world. People look at them like you are strong black man how can you be gay instead of just understanding that you cannot help who you fall in love
In this essay, I will assess the strengths and limitations of unstructured interviews for investigating the effect of material deprivation on educational achievement by using Item B and my own knowledge. Material deprivation is the idea that a lack of money leads to disadvantages, Item B gives an example of ‘low household income, poor housing and a lack of work space in the home.’

In this course I have learned about different social problems in societies worldwide. Some of these include poverty, social inequality, discrimination of race and culture, urbanization, and more. After learning all these subjects and more, I have decided to do my final on social inequality and minorities in the United States. I chose this particular topic because I have seen this in almost every place have lived. I find it appalling that minorities are still not treated 100% equal. We as Americans know what inequality is and know how it is used in our everyday society. I want to explore this topic and show how real and big this
In my interview I chose my girlfriend's neighbor. Hector is of Mexican decent and he is here because in Meigs county the produce fields hire Mexican laborers on worker permits. Hector started out doing this then he became the boss about five years ago and received his green card and now is an American and can speak very good English. He explained to me that in Mexico there is no age when you can start working so there are young boys working at six to ten years old to help support his needy family. He also stated that women do not usually work they are only aloud to go to the village markets and get goods for their family's and raise there many children. I asked about minimum wage and he kinda laughed and said some teens and men who work
