A work breakdown structure (WBS) will develop for this project and the WBS is based on the project charter, scope statement, and other relevant information. Gantt chart and network diagram also will be well prepared for this project. While preceding the planning stage, the resource usage cash flow report will showing the hours each person is assigned to work on each task each week. Furthermore, the probability/ impact matrix and list of prioritized risks for the project will be included in the project We will submit weekly milestone reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The milestone repost for the project will base on information in the Gantt chart. An agenda for the project team meeting will develop to work through some of the challenges while facing in executing the project. Update the scope of the project while having some changes in the executing phase. We will develop detailed lists of assumptions and questions that all the project team has related to the new scope of the project. We will decide to outsourcing much of work related to user requirements, user interface design, and collecting information about similar programs offered through the health club chain MYH recently acquired and all similar community- sponsored programs within twenty miles from the company. Updated the Gantt chart and also the project charter and the scope statement last but not least, we will updated the
When we observe the demographics of today¡¦s society, we notice that there is quite a change in the average age, as well as life expectancy. In 1993, the average life expectancy rose to an amazing 75.5 years, with women living an average of 79 years and men living an average of 72 years (Hawkins, 1996, p. 4). With this gradual rise in age, the idea of therapeutic recreation for the aging population has taken on a significant role. Therapeutic recreation uses recreation and leisure activities to meet the needs of people in order to improve their quality of life. These needs include social, physical, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual. The experience of engaging in recreation is perceived to have therapeutic benefits. Engaging in
Therapeutic recreation is a treatment service designed to restore, remediate and rehabilitate a person’s level of functioning and independence in life.
In the article The effect of therapeutic recreation on interpersonal and self-management skills of abused adolescent males (2004), Susan Mathieu provides the reader with a descriptive analysis of the effects therapeutic recreation has on interpersonal and self-management skills of abused adolescent males. The primary purpose of this research was to identify behavioural changes among abused adolescent males after participating in a therapeutic recreation program (Mathieu, 2004). The sample population consisted of 18 adolescent males located in a treatment facility from an urban area of Southern California (Mathieu, 2004). Two conducted experimental groups participated in a therapeutic recreation program and a control group was placed in a traditional
Therapeutic Recreation, a sanctuary in which all people with and illness or disability can go to and or have a therapist come to and get restored, remediated, and rehabilitated and hopefully see results in health.
Therapeutic recreation practitioners work in many areas and with a variation of populations from children to older adults, individuals with mental health issues, addictions, workplace wellness, community settings, assisted living, long-term and residential care. Assessments are used to appropriately meet the needs of the populations and clients that are served, but due to the structure of the health care system in Canada, there are individuals who are living in long-term and residential care whose needs are not being met. Typically, in long-term and residential care the
Therapeutic recreation has been a long-time and frequently used form of healing for many people, including individuals who are elderly, disabled, or have a form of mental illness (Carter & Van Andel, 2011). It was only a short time ago, in the twentieth century, that therapeutic recreation was recognized as a crucial component in health care (Carter & Van Andel, 2011). Therapeutic recreation has a variety of benefits that vary for many age groups. There is outdoor therapeutic recreation for young children who have down syndrome, an example would be swimming, as this is quite beneficial not only to the young age group, but to the older age group as well. These benefits include physical skills, cognitive skills, behavioural issues, and many more. This essay will discuss these specific particularly within the elderly age group.
Socioeconomic status can significantly influence leisure participation. This is because an individual from lower socioeconomic status faces significant financial barriers while accessing leisure (Scott, 2013). It is evident from recent literature that low neighborhood socioeconomic status is a powerful predictor of poor long-term physical activity uptake in Myocardial infarction survivors (Gerber et al., 2011). Hence, leisure practioners must focus on developing programs for individuals with myocardial infarction living in a neighborhood with low socioeconomic status. This is because they are a vulnerable population and multiple structural access barriers prevent them from engaging in physical activity. It is evident that positive
There are four areas of therapeutic recreation process called APIE and it stands for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. APIE is a dynamic process, never goes linear, and it can be seen in the diagram the arrows’ position, and it focuses on meeting the patient’s needs along this process. I have a program of study for my RT program that accomplish each of these areas. For example, Assessment: LEI 3703 Introduction to Recreational Therapy; this course is extremely important since it is a prerequisite for others courses. Also, LEI 4711 Client Assessment, Document, and Evaluation in RT goes under Assessment. Planning: LEI 3703 introduction to Recreational Therapy, LEI 3707 Inclusive Recreation Service, and LEI 4711 Client Assessment,
The HealthConnections Model is our investment into social innovation. Our model encapsulates four complementary elements to address social determinants of health. The first tracks community-based health and wellness events so we can provide this information to meet community needs. A second element establishes HC Councils to pool resources with local social service agencies, field advocates and community leaders to identify care gaps in the social safety net, and make informed decisions to address these needs. A third element involves an Investment Program to provide community support in the form of sponsorships, grants and investments (partnerships) to fill important social service gaps. Partnerships are established to exchange of member
My favorite model of Therapeutic Recreation is the Health Protection/Health Promotion Model because it focuses on enhancing the health and overall well-being of clients. Educating clients on the importance of this model will enable patients to have a better understanding of the topic. When clients are healthy, they interact with the recreational therapist and suggest activities that are intrinsically motivating for their psyche. Clients who are in poor health will be subjected to prescriptive activities by the recreational therapist to assist with their recovery and to achieve optimal health.
Everyone in society partakes in leisure. Leisure may be in the form of watching TV, gardening, fishing or playing a sport. The reasoning behind leisure participation also varies, individuals may partake in leisure for health benefits, because of their friends are or simply, because they enjoy the activity. It is important for leisure practitioners too not only understand the health benefits leisure provides an individual, but to also understand what motivates individuals to partake in leisure and what types of barriers and constraints they may have to overcome for successful leisure participation to occur. For the purpose of this essay the concepts extrinsic and intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy and learned helplessness will be explored.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a tool that is used to define the work elements of a project and identify its entire scope. It is the map of the project which identifies all elements of the project and allows managers to keep track and control of it. It is made of a hierarchy which facilitates the evaluation of cost, time and performance at all levels of the project life-cycle and organization. The structure illustrates the smaller units and allows for adaptation and quick communication if there a problems which need to be addressed. Definitions of each task should be clear and avoid overlapping in
ii. Work Breakdown Structure The work breakdown structure shows how the various activities in the project have been assigned to six different phases. These are namely: Requirements Specification Develop Design Procure Install Test Responsibilities are then assigned to parties for the activities within the project.
Placing the events in a Gantt chart will help clarify and organize the events, the order in which they will occur, as well as any preceding activities that must be accomplished. Table 5 shows the project 's normal conditions, their timeframes and associated costs. As noted, normal conditions require 50 weeks to complete and therefore, cannot be used. Table 6 is a similar chart showing the project under ultimate crash conditions. As mentioned earlier, the project can be accomplished in as little as 42 weeks if every activity is crashed. This scenario is not desired however, because the project 's budget then approaches $5 million in associated costs, over 50% beyond the original allotted expenditure.
6.0 Preliminary Project RequirementsThe main features of the Recreation and Wellness Intranet Project will be to inform employees about health issues and allow them to: 1. Register for company-sponsored recreational programs 2. Register for company-sponsored classes and programs to include weight loss, stress reduction, smoking cessation and other health related issues. 3. Track data on employee participation. 4. Offer incentives for employees to join programs and do well. 5. Other features as they are suggested by our employees and health insurance providers, if they add value to our business.
