On the aspect of key learning through self reflection, I have identified and wll share the folloiwng areas for professional growth. Through the course of leading module-subject coaching. I would recommend:
a. promote working in teams, assists members to identify partner roles, and sharing responsibiities as member-contributions to learnig together
b. formulate intergal learning experiences to aid students to make concepts across subjects of interests. If possible, lead them into building up the solutions of the Module Project.
c. if relevant and possible, make the link to real-world issues, with students personal experience, eg social issues, or behaviour patterns
d. for class activities, provide opportunities for creative problem solving,
Also working in a team give people the chance to be supportive with each other and help one another.
“The function of self-examination is to lay the groundwork for insight, without which no growth can occur”, Brouwer. According to Developing Management Skills, the knowledge we possess about ourselves, which makes up our self -concept, is central to improving our management skills. The book also stated that we cannot improve ourselves of develop new capabilities unless and until we know what level of capability we currently possess.
By working together as a team towards a goal/ objective helps the team become stronger and more focused towards targets/aims. This is due to individuals being able to build personal confidence while working together and enables people to be more assertive in their strong areas. By supervising the team you can help build a confident and able workforce by learning their strong/weak points. When working towards goals or targets the most productive/efficient members or staff will be used according to expertise/confidence in the area. Continual Self-Development is the approach where an individual takes prime responsibility and ownership for their own learning and development. This approach requires motivation and commitment in order to exploit learning opportunities and minimise the impact of weakness. A continuing self-development should be undertaken in partnership with the organisation and self-development should enhance the role held within the organisation. There are many benefits to be derived from continual self-development: improve performance and self-confidence; identify and develop specific skills and qualities; increase learning capacity; help achieve potential.
Learning from each other - Everyone has their own individual approach to changes and by working together and learning from each other, they are able to view the situation from a fresh perspective and it gives them the chance to be flexible and innovative with their approach.
