1.1 Identify the different reasons people communicate.
Communication is a process of transferring information from one person or from a group of people to the other. Communication can also be defined as a way and form of passing or receiving a message. People communicate to express or share a concern and allow the passing of message. By not communicating can limit the people’s ability to connect with each other. For instance care worker to care users and other professionals in the care setting environment. People communicate so that they can understand the needs of others and it ensures ways of building trust and resolving conflicts. Confidentiality is about protection of others personal details. Whatever information you have about a service user must be between the user and the provider. The following are regarded as personal information that must be kept confidential. Name, sex, medical history and record, current contact, assessment or report, details of family and guardian etc.
4.3 Describe the potential tension between maintaining an individual confidentiality and disclosing concern.
Matters related to confidentiality and disclosures are legal issues, both adult and children have the right to confidentiality, in some situations it is not possible to maintain it. In some circumstances confidentiality has to be broken, if there is a concern of an individual wellbeing or aware of a crime, that must be reported to the necessary authority. A normal code of conduct process must be abided by when breaking confidentiality.
Support worker must seek consent from the care user before passing information related to them; however, information can be passed to those who have the right to such information and in need of it. In a situation such as handing over at the end of each shift, both manager and care workers will need care users information to enable them to deliver their duty of
