When starting a new course: The first resource I need to use is the course syllabus. The syllabus includes the course overview, and then the week by week assignments. Within in the weekly assignments are your materials needed for the week, and are usually in a word or pdf document. If you don't have the programs to read the downloads; you can download the programs to read the document's on you student web sight. VoiceThread is a cloud application so there is no software to install. It will work on any modern web browser with internet connection. User need to make sure their computer system has an up-to-date version of adobe flash. To access VoiceThread content users can use any of these platforms: Standard Voice Thread site, Voicethread universal, Chrome App and iOS Mobile App. Using Voicethread is free, all users have to do is register for an account using a valid email address. If user want to create more advanced creation, commenting and management features users have the opportunity to purchase an upgrade version of Voicethread. The basic steps for using Voicethread first the user will go to http://www.voicethread.com. Second click on sign in or register. Third, once you are sign into your account, the user will see the basic account navigation page. Users should pay close attention to the tabs at the top Browse, Create and My Voice. From this point users can create voice threads with three simple steps: upload, comment and share. Voice thread enables users to add images, documents and videos. Computers, Internet, electronics are all apart of technology. Businesses are being buffeted by an increasingly rapid rate of change. There are new products, new regulations new customers and new technology in almost every industry. Part of that new technology is distance learning. More and more of adults are taken advantage of it. It is very convient for that working adult with spouse and kids or the adult going back to school. However some adults are not as savvy with the Internet or computer. Both items are essential in order to become a distance-learning student. Therefore I have created a student survival guide that would be useful for a new online student.
