Life Goals
When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps. – Confucius (“Confucius Quotes”). Everyone has goals, whether they be small or very large is up to the person. Furthermore, I believe by setting goals and planning on how to achieve those goals, they become more achievable. My life goals are to own the Houston Rockets, be the Commander of a spaceship, and obtain a superpower.
In order to achieve one of my biggest goals, I need Leslie Alexander’s job. The successful business man is the owner of the prestigious Houston Rockets, a team in the National Basketball Association(NBA). In order to achieve this goal, I would need to somehow come up with 1.25 billion dollars. The Rockets have

Another goal of mine is to somehow get a superpower, therefore making me a super hero. Whether I get struck by lightning like the flash, or get bitten by a super spider, having a super power sounds like an amazing ability. Being able to do something no one else on the planet can do makes you unique, people look up to you, and people respect you. I’d be using my powers for good, but if in the wrong hands a “superpower” could easily be used for evil. In order to achieve this, I will try my best to do science experiments, get bitten by radioactive spiders, or find a hero with a super suit. Although super suits aren’t an actual super power, I believe they can be used in lieu of powers in order to protect people. Ironman, Antman, or even Daredevil; all of these heroes are men in powerful suits with fighting experience, defending their cities from evil. It takes good character and honor to be able to do the right thing and help those in need, so that has always been a goal of mine. I’d need good communication with the city or area I protect, they’d need me to be able to respond quickly and effectively at a moment’s notice. I wouldn’t want to be one of the “in the shadows” heroes, I love heroes who interact with the city people they protect. In order to do that my communications and speaking skills would need to be developed so people continue to believe in
Everyone has dreams and aspirations they want to achieve in life. Mines are to eventually earn my PhD in Health Management, write a book on the social economic conditions that plague Black Communities and to hopefully run for US Senate in the near not too distance future. All amiable and lofty aspirations, but one thing; that is all they will ever become unless I take ownership of my dreams and turn them into reality. Dreams can inspire you, but more importantly, goals can change your life. Taking your dreams and turning them into goals is no easy task, it often comes with a price; time, effort, sweat, determination, and sometimes money. Goals are focused and precise objectives based on real life values that requires action. To achieve any goals, you must make sacrifices, stay committed, overcome adversity and stick to a plan. But how do I turn these far-fetched dreams into SMART Goals?
Even though some goals are harder than others to achieve, set them anyway and do your very best to reach them. Have high standards for yourself and for the people you hang around as well. By “setting goals for yourself”, I mean set them for who you want to be, how you want to act, present yourself, and live your life. Make your life a leading example to
Goals we all have them big or small, we each have something we want to accomplish, but the big question always is, how do we accomplish it. Well for me, I have goals in life daily and longer term. Daily goals would be like finish psychology paper or make it to the gym sometime today. My more long terms goals relate specifically to my college degree, such as complete college in four years, get into a good
At the end of my senior year of high school, I had to make a senior portfolio; part of the project was to write down your goals and make a timetable for where you see yourself in five or ten years. I wrote that my goal in life is to be happy and I skipped the timetable because if my goal is to be happy then I can’t plan out how to obtain that goal. Who knows what will make me happy in five years? Life is constantly changing; nothing actually stays the same. It is important to set goals for yourself, but my idea of goals is different. I want to be happy and my goal is to take whatever smaller steps are necessary to get there.
I have goals in my life, just as the great Odysseus had his own goals; Odysseus wanted to return home and slay all of the parasitic suitors, living off his fortune. My goals, on the other hand, are not so gory or dangerous, but it is also tiresome to achieve my altitudinous goals. I want to go to a nationally ranked college in business after I graduate, that is why I am
I have set many goals throughout my life, and I think it is important to set goals so you better yourself. My mission statement is: “To have my own family and be a positive aspect in their life. I will utilize my strengths and will participate in all aspects of my life with purpose, kindness, and energy. I will ensure that my home is tranquil and loving and my workplace is productive and positive. My greatest joy is being worthy of the respect and admiration of family, friends, and colleagues”.
According to Atticus Finch, heroism is “when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.” If a first grader was asked what a hero was, the majority of them would respond: Spiderman, Superman, Batman, or any other of the endless marvel superheroes. However, heroes can be anyone. They can be your mom, dad, brother, friend, a new acquaintance, or anyone and everyone. In movies and books heroes usually have special qualities otherwise known as superpowers. Superpowers such as super strength, invisibility, they can walk through walls, or even fly. But in the real world where superheroes and superpowers do not exist, qualities that a hero possesses are varied.
Unless being a super hero puts me on some type of super pay roll, it is a given that i would use my ability to avoid high gas prices and putting extra mileage on my car by flying to work instead of driving. I could also more likely sleep in a
A one goal that I have set for myself is to keep moving forward into my careers. By moving more into a career will help me achieve better financial issues, less depression, better opportunities, better choices, and a better attitude toward life. Another goal
Throughout my childhood people always asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” And my immediate response was invariably “a superhero.” As a child, wearing a mask and suit, saving people, and battling against crime was my image of a hero. As I have grown up and become a member of Junior ROTC, I now know that a uniform is just one part of becoming a superhero. While I would be proud to wear the uniform of a member of the United States Army, I realize that I need to develop my mind and body to earn the right to help make the world a better place.
The idea of a lifetime goal is a difficult concept for me. I used to believe that my goal was to become a successful lawyer like the one’s on crime shows. But what is “successful”? And what happens when I do become a lawyer? Is it just, “Done. Lifetime made.”? No, a lifetime goal is so much more than that. It’s something that I am trying and will probably never stop trying to piece together.
Everyone should have types of goals in life some bigger some smaller but a set of goals. I feel that is will better help you achieve things you want in life. It will also make it easier to organize your actions. My goal is to become a Security Technician so I will be able to provide for a future family and buy a home.
Has there ever been a point in your life that you wished you could be a superhero or superhuman? Most, if not all, people’s answer to that question would be a resounding “yes,” including mine. Over the years, more TV shows and movies have begun to incorporate what we would consider to be our “heroes” into them. These shows, or movies, consist of a hero, or heroes, that are typically aided by friends and a team that help them fight evil; two examples of this are Arrow and The Flash. Hero shows, or movies, can be a quite broad category, but it can be broken into smaller categories like superhuman heroes, mortal heroes, dark heroes, or otherworldly heroes. The Flash is a superhuman hero while Green Arrow is a mortal, but dark hero. The two
As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy-tale like, we tend to see life through a rose-colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.
My goal in life is to be a great friend and wife to my fiancé. An exceptional and admirable mother that teaches her children not just right and wrong, but how to be healthy, happy, successful, responsible adults who can do the same for their families. I don’t want to lose sight of who I am and the person I am meant to be in the process. All the while, enjoying every bit of life and making every moment count.
