Time management is a crucial skill for everyday task completion, especially when there are several obligations that must be fulfilled. The ability to keep track of every aspect of daily life can prove extremely challenging, as I would most certainly come to know firsthand. Approximately 6 years ago I decided to enlist in the United States Army after considering it as a possibility for many years. My decision would lead me to embark on a journey in pursuit of self- awareness and the opportunity to serve my country as I had always dreamed of doing. One of the very first crucial lessons that I learned from the very moment that I shipped off for Basic Combat Training (BCT) in Fort Benning, Georgia on that sweltering 4th day of May in 2010 was that
There are many reasons to why Australian’s went to war in the 1914; everyone had different reasons for applying for this life- threatening job. Some went for the thrill, to get a job, to get away from the drought and some people even had war fever. On the other hand, some people went because they felt like it was the right thing to do and because everyone else was doing it. A lot of time people think only about the soldiers that went to war and forget about the women who also enlisted as nurses and did other important jobs. England was like home to the Australian’s but is that really why they went to war, when it comes down to it this is only a small reason
I am very persistent. Once I set my mind to something, I strive for it until I achieve it or it has proved impossible for me to obtain my goal. It was once my goal to join the Army. Although I was overweight, I worked until I made the correct weight limit and kept trying to join until they told me I couldn't join because I had eczema as a child. I believe that I should always try my hardest and do my best as much as possible in every situation.
The notion of “time keeping” is so engraved into our everyday lives as human beings that it becomes difficult to objectively extract one solid definition.
Deciding on what you want to be or do for your career is a difficult task everyone faces
Serving the United States Military comes with many responsibilities as well as pressure and accountability. However, the military isn’t for everyone, but it offers so much for those who serve. One thing that must be known and dealt with is that this career could be a life threatening one, and there are many obstacles one must go through beforehand.
During my first and second week of placement, I had some difficulty with my time management. The reason behind this, I found myself taking on too many tasks with little time during the busy peak hours. I was overwhelmed with the amount of things I need to accomplish. These included: Attending to patients’ personal care, administering
The most hardworking people are usually the least recognized. They are generally the least paid as well. There must be some sort of incentive for them to continually work so hard. The United States Army has been the underdogs of the military branch. The United States Army is probably the hardest working branch of the military, but also the least sought after. To the general public they are not considered to be at the top of the spectrum amongst the other branches of military. The government has helped in creating a bias within the branches of military by making the standards to get into the military so low compared to some of the other branches. The Army should be considered the “People’s Army.”
Time management plays a vital role in each and every unit with the United States Army and it affects how quickly they can respond to problems when they arise. Time management encompasses just about everything in the Army. From Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCO) making sure their soldiers are in the right place at the right time by tracking all their soldiers appointments and duties or the squad leaders and other Non-Commissioned Officers making sure that maintenance is being completed on time so the aircraft are ready to fly, and making sure that soldiers are ready for their flights for the day all the way down to the lower enlisted soldier making sure he or she is on time and ready to complete their day. These are the just a few of the things that time management encompasses within the military. So what is time management? Time management is a skill that needs to learned or if need be taught to every soldier within the ranks. Imagine a unit that has no time management skills. Soldiers are late for flights, they miss appointments and in turn receive article fifteens, Senior Non-Commissioned Officers are being scolded by their First Sergeants for not being able to properly track their soldiers which in turn falls downhill to the squad leaders. Maintenance isn’t completed and a majority of the fleet is down leaving only a few aircraft in an airworthy status, as the operational readiness level continues to drop, soldiers fail to complete training requirements and are
The dazed, sick and weak soldiers walk around Valley Forge groaning like zombies in a graveyard. Best time to leave would be now! In the summer of 1775 George Washington and his troops left from Boston to New York City. On April 13, 1778, the French joined the Americans in the Revolutionary War. I joined the army after Valley Forge was made, but I have decided to not re-enlist for the three reasons which are the illness and death, the doctor’s condition, and the homes of the soldiers.
War was to be held in the location named Valley Forge, and I was either to volunteer and join the war or not. Some of the conditions that the camp, in Valley Forge was in, is that there was a lot of smoke and the location in winter would be to frigid. However, they did have build a place to stay, they build huts. One of the reasons that some people have re-enlisted was that the Britain has placed taxes on them. I have decided to re-enlist for three reasons which include: the cause of freedom is what I have pride in, the attitude the soldiers have, and of the taxes Britain has on us. Re-enlisting would help out for George Washington since he would have hard times, keeping his soldiers for a longer period of time. Most people would sign up for a nine month enlistment however, not very many people would sign up for two or even one year. To re-enlist would mean to help out with my country, I have already
What were the reasons as to why Australian enlistment rose at the outbreak of World War 1, but then declined towards the end of the war?
There are a lot of graduates fresh out of high schools that make the decision to use the military. There are some people that join the military because that is a fast and easy choice for them. The military gives everyone a wide variety of options. College for instance, the military allows you to serve your country and still have time to attend college and get a degree if you choose to do that. People that choose to join the military get the option to go to college anytime they feel during their military career. The military pays for part or all the tuition. The military has four different branches, Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines. Each branch offers different trades. Air Force for example, teaches people to fly, have mechanical skills,
Regarding research into religion’s involvement in a member’s decision to enlist into the military, little has been performed. What little work has been done delves into Christianity and how evangelism influences a member’s decision, as well as how church adherence impacted enlistment post 9/11. In sum, the conclusion was drawn that evangelists have a higher propensity for enlistment when compared to non-evangelical Christians and non-religious individuals alike (Burdette). This could contribute to the overrepresentation of southern states, as many southerners have evangelical Christian roots. Additionally, church adherence post 9/11 negatively impacted enlistment, per the research of Defronzo. He notes that some changes could be explained by
Time management can be crucial when it comes to executing a plan or mission. The United States Military is ran on time management. Most days, especially overseas, your day has a time line on what needs to be done to complete the mission at hand. These time lines are sent down from the company commander and completed by the company.
United States Army Recruiting has gone through numerous challenges in war time. Even during the peace time, recruiting command engages on real time mission day after day, month after month. I can clearly say that the command was in war of accomplishing mission of providing strength of all volunteer Army well before the 911. It takes a gut, total commitment, and winner's attitude for accomplishing mission regardless of the situation. I am really glad that I am in the honored profession called Army Recruiting that gave me so much of what I am supposed to be and better person period.
