Assignment
Introduction
I am Zeeshan Ali; I am working as a Computer teacher for Classes VI-X-M in Canal Side Boys Campus. I have done Masters in Computer Science (MCS) from Punjab University College of Information and Technology (PUCIT) Lahore. The students are the main focus of every teacher and our entire teaching efforts circle round our students to achieve the set targets. Effective Teaching includes many useful teaching strategies that a teacher chooses according to the requirement of his/her respective subject and topic as well. In result of my years of experience and as a Computer teacher I find Group Work as the most effective and fruitful technique at every level.
Rationale
Group work is a successful teaching strategy in which

Implementation of the Chosen Strategy
Keeping in view the importance of group work I applied the strategy in my comprising of 16 students to teach them ‘Conversion of Hexadecimal into Binary Number System and Conversion of Binary Number System into Hexadecimal Number System’. The objective of my lesson was to make students know how to convert an Octal Number into Binary Number System on the board and its practical implementation. To achieve these objectives I started my lesson with a question answer session to revise their previous concepts. After the recap session I divided my class into groups of 4 students each and said them to identify Hexadecimal and Binary digits. Then through exposition I explained the current topic how to convert a hexadecimal number into binary on the board. For more detail explanation I solved three related examples on the board interactively. In these examples I involved students to help me in solving these examples. This was their learning towards the application of current topics properties. Later I assigned the conversion task to the groups. Each group did its work and it was the responsibility of the group leader to make sure participation of each member of the group. The groups prepared their presentation and to give everyone an equal chance presentation was divided into parts. I kept on observing the groups and encourage the participation of reluctant students during discussion time. Then every group got a five minutes time to
If an officer cannot be accountable or responsible, he or she will lose the respect from other officers. Teamwork will be at jeopardy because no one will be able to trust this officer. If the officer was responding to a call, he or she might have difficulty finding a fill for backup. Even if an officer was accountable and responsible, teamwork is essential in this profession. There is no “lone-wolf” in this profession because law enforcement is a team effort. Everyone has to learn how to get along in order to protect the public above all else.
There are three kinds of jobs: first jobs where people have to work alone without any help, second kind of job is where you have to work in a group, and finally the third kind looks for equal work: invidual work and work in a group.
Having had the opportunity to assess children’s learning during PPL3, it is clear that there are certain strategies that best suits the needs of individuals. From studying lesson plans and evaluations, and from general observation it is clear that group work was often beneficial, and gave the children the chance to work with peers of different ability levels and different learning styles, so that they were able to develop and learn from their peers. Group work is great for getting children to work collaboratively, whether this is as a pair, or as a group of 6, or a group of 12, it takes them out of their comfort zones and to adapt to new situations. Using different strategies such as think-pair-share and mixed ability groups as well as self chosen groups can really determine the quality of children’s learning. I shall be looking into these strategies and reviewing my own teaching and how they were beneficial or detrimental towards a child’s education.
Group work has been a cornerstone of the social work profession and requires a variety of facilitator skills and awareness of group processes. The SSLDTM Group Program for People with Difficulties in Social Situations (Socialwork1914, 2017) provides an excellent example of a psycho-educational group co-facilitated by two female social workers, Jane and Karen. After viewing the 6th session of this 8-week program, I began to understand how the concepts of group formation/development, interpersonal dynamics, and leadership styles contribute to successful group work outcomes.
During this trimester, I was a member of two diverse five member groups. Superficial analysis based on composition and output (successful assignment submission) would suggest that these groups had every opportunity to succeed and evolve into effective teams (Fisher, Hunter and Macrosson 1997; Hackman 1998). However, closer inspection suggests otherwise. As Hackman (2004) recommends, teams should measure effectiveness from multiple perspectives: quality of team outcomes (client perspective), quality of team life (individual perspective), and increased team productivity over time (team perspective). Using this model, it is apparent that despite a happy client, both teams performed poorly.
I also feel that it is very important to work as a team. Being in a team can be very helpful because you have different minds thinking together and someone might have an idea better for the patient. It also will help everyone in the group because it takes the stress off of just one person and you can spread it throughout the group so that way one person isn’t being worn out for their long shift.
I think group projects are very helpful. Maybe somebody in the group doesn’t understand something. So another person in the group can show them how to do it. You can also talk to people you’ve never talked to before, you might be able to help someone, moreover someone might be able to help you.
This article discusses the most effective ways that we can follow to organize large classes in order to implement and carry out collaborative learning effectively, and allow both teachers and students to shift smoothly from whole-class discussions to individual and group work. Gena Rhoades begins her article by indicating the problem that many teachers confront in their classes and making them pulling out and neglecting using group work. According to the researcher the only reason behind this problem is the feeling that most teachers have of being unable to control their classes.
Being successful is always challenging as part of a group or team. There are number of reasons why this is challenging, such as a number of people involved and everyone’s cooperation, agreement, commitments, contribution, combined effort and shared values are required (McClean & Collins, 2011). Group work demands common goals and agreements, mutual understanding, more discussion which is sometime hard to manage to some extent (Détienne, 2006). Recently, I got the opportunity to become a part of MGT210 assessment group of four members. Personally, I feel that our group work was successful to some extent. We managed to develop relationship which is a criteria that indicates successful group work (Ismail Al-Alawi, Yousif Al-Marzooqi, & Fraidoon
Group activities are a great way for children to gain knowledge about their peers, educator’s and the communities’ cultures and traditions. Children are able to visually see the different cultures and experience them for themselves in a group setting that would be interactive and visually stimulating. An educator could play some different language greetings on a CD and have the children repeat what they hear, to represent each of the children and staff at the centre. Giving the children an understanding of the diverse cultures at the centre will enhance their understanding and promote equality and minimise discrimination. When the children are in group setting it challenges their thinking and introduces alternative thinking to foster portative
Each of the three areas identified by Adair needs to be addressed if your team is to work effectively and harmoniously. Just imagine these scenarios:
Have you ever thought to yourself, “How am I going to get all this work done by myself?” Well, we definitely have! This is why we agree that working in groups is the way to go. It has many great effects on students and teachers. Which means everyone gains from group work.
Before beginning a reflection it is worth mentioning that group work is one of the possible learning means that is used at all levels in educational system. The main purpose of group work in educational practice is to develop and maintain the willingness to cooperate and learn together. Thus, group presentations might serve as an incentive for learning and discovering new things (Gillies and Boyle, 2010).

In the society that is developing with every passing day, making oral presentation and doing group work have become basic skills serving for not only studying and teaching but also students’ future jobs in many areas.
