There have been many turning points in American History; however none have the same effect as September 11, 2001, and many Americans relate the day to the country’s loss of innocence. As a result of 9/11 many American’s lives were affected emotionally, physically, economically, and politically. A month after the terrorist attack in the US, a war was launched by the United States. Many People are still affected emotionally by September 11 2001 today. A huge number of people are still facing mental health issues. They are trying very hard to forget about the past and move on with there every day life. Many still fear that there might be another terror attack in the United States. The American psychological association found that people living in New York who have experienced the World Trade Center attack are showing more mental health problems more than any other place. Many people feel that we should honor our love one and the police and fireman that lost their lives because of 9/11. The National September 11 memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center has been established to honor the dead and respect the historic site of America’s tragic loss. The memorial was opened on September 11 2011. It consist of two huge pools with the nation’s largest human=made waterfalls located on the site between the two fallen towers. The name of those who died at the WTC, pentagon, and in Pennsylvania aboard flight 93 . The Museum presents a gallery that tells the story of 9/11. It contains artifacts, photographs and multimedia display. Even though we are stilling living with the fear of Terrorism. We need to live our lives the way we use to. But be more aware of what’s going on around us. We shouldn’t show the terror that we still living in fear. We need to stand together as a country and fight the war against

That day, referred to as 9/11, left a stain in the hearts and minds of many Americans. These attacks brought out the hero in a great deal of people, but many heroes died on that day, and those heroes will never be forgotten. Because of this tragic event, millions of American citizens were injured or have had to endure the lasting effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (History.com). This awful event is our hope for the future because it taught us we need to combat terrorism better and we are still fighting this battle today (History.com).

Although the attack happened on American soil, it can really be characterized as an attack on civilization itself, because people from more than 80 nationalities perished on that day (Hitchens).
On September 11, 2001, America as we know it changed forever. We were attacked on our own soil for the first time since the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941. Our country thought we were safe from terrorist attacks due to the oceans that separated us. We discovered on that horror-filled day that we were extremely incorrect. Our own resources were used against us in those atrocious acts of terrorism. America was transformed from the numerous consequences that came from 9/11. Since the events of September 11, 2016, many Americans want to know what the government has done or are doing to make America safer and is it working. After America endured attacks or was involved in war, the government made changes to attempt to make the country safer. Some of the most recent changes involve The Patriot Act and changes to our immigration laws. Before we can look ahead to the present, we need to look into the past to see if our government has learned from past bad practices or if they have indeed helped us become more secure as the United States has had its share of surprise attacks.
On September 11th, a tragedy happened when almost 3500 people died from a terrorist attack. One thing that did not change after this was the way America held itself together. Something devastating had happened but they still managed to push through it and come out strong. When “9/11” occurred, it changed American lives and shaped how we live and know life as it is today. Thing would never be the same in points of access, such as airports, military bases, local and even schools. As the years went on, the younger generation understood and accepted what was happening. Just a year before 9/11, you could access military bases with only a driver's license, and walk up with your loved ones to the point they boarded the actual airplane. Are these new strict measurements that we’ve grown so accustomed to necessary? Many will say no, and even call it overkill, but it may just be what we’ve needed all along, instead of relying on a false sense of security.

Not only our view of the islamic culture but immigration and how strict we are with security, not just with airports but with events with high amounts of people in one specific area. It happened with Alceda that most people didn’t even know about them. Osama Bin Laden wanted to have an impact on America and they didn't have the weapons for attacking the army. They wanted the whole world to be afraid of them because since america is a strong country it would make every country fear the Alceda and tried to make the U.S weak. Much debate has arose on whether the government formed new agencies to protect the United States citizens. Many do not realize the long term effects with 9/11 and how it has changed are whole society. “Although, after the attacks the federal government created the Transportation Security Administration and, on Nov. 19, 2001, Congress passed the Aviation and Transportation Security Act” (Poladian). Like agencies know they want people to show up to the airport early before there flight so that they can take their shoes off and go through a security check point.
