The third standard is, teachers understand and use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate and ensure student learning. To apply this standard in my practice I will have to try give the students assessments to see if they understand the content that they are required to know. To demonstrate that I am adhering this standard, I will have to make sure that I create an assessment that I can use to test the students and to see if I am teaching them the way they need to be

Standardize tests can be used to evaluate a student's understanding and knowledge in subject area. For example, The Georgia Milestones Assessment System (Georgia Milestones) is a comprehensive summative assessment, which measures how well students have learned the knowledge and skills outlined in the state-adopted content standards in English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Standardize test have a positive effect on instructional decision making in the classroom. Standardize testing can help teachers diagnose student issues, evaluate student academic performance, form small groups, and develop instructional plans.

Center-based learning means that teachers group materials for one type of focus together. There are a variety of centers involved in an early childhood classroom including science, math, blocks, dramatic play, music, literacy, reading, and technology. I believe that I met this standard because I created a lesson plan each week that included reading, writing, speaking, listening, and thinking skills that were developmentally appropriate for the student and addressed his academic needs. I also created activities that the student enjoyed so that he would be motivated to learn new and challenging concepts. Each activity on the lesson plan correlated to an Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS) for his grade level.

Teachers are demonstrating a greater knowledge of their content, and are teaching the same subjects for longer periods of times. The district level should require the teachers to implement a backwards design when creating their unit plans. The same grade level teachers from the parish will meet as a group to design the district test for each unit. This planning will help the teachers set their instructional objectives for their classes, and find additional resources to use during instruction. As a future district level supervisor, I believe, as stated in Standard 2, I have gained the knowledge and the understanding of curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, and refinement in order to help the teachers improve their student’s math

This program is appropriate in a diverse, 4th grade general education classroom. The modules are made up of “Topics” and “Lessons” that are aligned to Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Each module provides the foundational standards needed for the lessons (i.e. CCSS from the previous grade), as well as the focus grade level standards. The first module introduces concepts which are then spiraled within the next module’s focus. While the modules are thematic and based on each mathematics domain (base ten numbers, geometry, fractions, data, algebraic thinking), some standards are seen across topics and lessons. Each lesson has allocated time to four major components: fluency practice, concept development, application problems, and student debrief.

How have you organized your program to enable student learning of all grade-level curriculum expectations?

Structuring on the best of existing state standards, the Common Core State Standards provide a clear and reliable learning goal to help prepare students for college, career, and life. The standards clearly demonstrate what students are expected to learn at each grade level, so that every parent and teacher can understand and support their learning. From Kindergarten through 8th grade, grade-by-grade standards exist in English language arts/literacy and mathematics. From 9th through 12th grade, the standards are grouped into grade sets of 9th through 10th grade standards and 11th through 12th grade standards. Moreover, the CCSS stress the importance of using primary texts in the classroom to build literacy, along with many other things. While the standards set grade-specific goals, they do not define how the standards should be taught or which materials should be used to support students. States and districts know that there will need to be a range of supports in place to guarantee that all students, including those with special needs and English language learners, can master the standards. It is up to the states to outline the full range of supports appropriate for these students.

[The unit’s standards all come directly from the ELA Common Core standards of first grade expectations. The ELA Common Core standard mandates what the students will be doing and learning. Each lesson’s learning objective is derived from the ELA Common Core standard. The learning experiences’ purpose also aligns with the learning objectives so students can meet the objective. Yesterday I participated in an amazing webcast with one of the Governors of the Fed, Gov. Lael Brainard. She spoke for a a good amount of time about her role at the fed and then eventually opened it up for questions. I was able to ask about the growing opportunity in marketplace lending.
