The constellation I have chosen is Cancer. I chose this constellation because it is my zodiac sign. Naturally, I found it interesting to learn about and write an essay on my discovery and creation theory. Cancer is Latin for "Crab", The name was chosen because the representation of the the constellation is in fact a crab. The constellation is 506 sq. degrees and made up of faint stars. The creative theory of Cancer is quite interesting actually. According to Greek mythology, Hercules was sent to battle with a Lernaean Hydra. Hera (the queen of the gods) wanted to give Hercules a disadvantage in battle . So, Hera's plan was to send a crab named Karkinos to distract Hercules. Hera's plan failed as Hercules kicked Karkinos with so much
I chose the constellation Andromeda because the back story and myths it has really fascinates me! I feel that some of the myths behind the consolations can be rather boring, but with the romance and danger all wrapped into one, I continue going back to it. This constellation is the 19th largest in the sky and is located in the first quadrant of the northern hemisphere. It takes seven-hundred-twenty-two square feet in the sky!
The constellation I have chosen is Lyra, I have chosen this because not only is it beautiful it also has a wonderfully sad story behind it. Lyra is a rather small constellation occupying an area of around 286 square degrees and is located in the fourth quadrant of the northern hemisphere, it belongs to the Hercules family with other constellations such as Cratar, Ara and Serpens. Lyra is centered around other constellations such as Draco, Hercules and Cygnus. But even being surrounded by all these other constellations it still includes one of the brightest stars in the sky which is Vega, which happens to be the fifth brightest star.
Cassiopeia is the constellation I have chosen. It is a very interesting constellation, comprised of various stars named with a Greek letter followed by Cassiopeiae (e.g. Alpha Cassiopeiae). The stars also have various traditional names of other origin, for instance Alpha is traditionally called Shedir from Arabic. I chose the constellation partly because I like the name, but it also has interesting origins and I am glad I looked up more details about it.
My favorite constellation is Orion. The reasoning behind it being that I just love the goddess Artemis, and she is the one who, according to legend, created the constellation. An interesting fact about Orion is that the man of which it is shaped is the only man Artemis has ever loved.
My favorite constellation is the Capricornus constellation. I don't know much about constellations, so this is my favorite mainly because in astrology (and I'm aware it's different from astronomy) my sign is Capricorn. Capricornus is supposed to create the image of a goat with the tail of a fish. This is because Capricorn has this form, and so the constellation is based off of the astrological zodiac.
My favorite constellation is Scorpius. I have chosen Scorpius because that is my Zodiac sign, and I have come to learn about it a lot in the past few years. Scorpius is Latin for "scorpion," and Scorpius is in between the constellation Libra to the west and Sagittarius to the east.
‘You were willing to give your life to rescue a young women.’ Hera is a vile god because she put snakes in his crib to attack Hercules. She also made Hercules do hurtful things in the story 12 labors. Hera are two reasons why she is malevolent.
My favorite constellation, thats a tough one because I have several. But, since I have to choose one I would have to go with the constellation Pegasus. This is my favorite, because I like horses. I always did like the creature named Pegasus in the Disney movie Hercules. I also like how it's shaped in the night sky. Some information about Pegasus, is that it's located in the Northern sky. Pegasus is also a winged horse greek mythology.
The constellation I choose was Leo The lion. I choose Leo because it is my zodiac sign. The constellation Leo is one of the earliest recognizable constellations. The constellation Leo is also best visible during April. Leo is one of the 13 sings of the the zodiac, and is the fifth sign, representing those born around July 22 until around August 22.
The name “Cancer” was first coined by the father of medicine the Greek physician Hippocrates although he did not actually use the word Cancer. The exact words he used were Carcinos, and Carcinoma which translate to the English word crab. The reason for the comparison to the crab is because of the spreading projections that come from Cancer brought to Hippocrates mind the shape that
I chose the constellation Cancer (“The Crab”), because is the constellation that represents my zodiac sing, that is Cancer; this constellation represents the form of a crab, and is because this the name of the constellation means crab in Latin, this constellation is visible on The South Hemisphere on the autumn, and on The Northern Hemisphere on the begin of the spring. That constellation occupies a five hundred six square degrees.
Hera is my god for this essay. She was the Olympian queen of the gods, and the goddess of marriage, woman, the sky and the stars of heaven. She is famous because she was usually depicted as a beautiful woman wearing a crown and holding a royal, lotus-tipped scepter, and sometimes accompanied by a lion, cuckoo or hawk. Hera was the Olympian queen of the gods. She was worshipped by the Greeks as the patron of women and marriage. I think it’s important to know about Hera because she was wife and the sister of her brother Zeus. Hera was the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. Hera grew up in Titan Ocean and the Tethys raised her. When she grew up Zeus found her attractive and tried to seduce her a couple times but failed. Hera has three brothers Poseidon,
The constellation I have chosen is Centaurus! Centaurus is of course a bright constellation that belongs in the southern sky and is considered to be one of the largest constellations. Of course because of its position in the Milky Way, it contains several very bright stars and to add to this, its beta and alpha star are used to find the constellation Crux, this constellation has a magnitude of 6.5 and 281 stars and with the magnitude of 6.5 makes it visible to the unaided eye. I chose this constellation because I find it the most interesting and I find it absolutely beautiful, we have so much left to discover about this constellation.
My favorite constellation is the Little Dipper because its so underrated, but its just as good as the big dipper. By the name i hope you can tell that it looks like a little dipper spoon thing that you would cook with. So yeah. Spoons are cool. And I'm underrated so i can really relate to the little dipper, you know? Plus the little dipper has the north star which is a shining star and I'm a shining star so hah.
For this essay I have chosen the Leo constellation. I chose Leo because it is one of the first recognized constellations and is one of the easiest to recognize as it actually resembles a lion. I also happen to be a Leo and have always had a fascination with this particular constellation.
