This paper will introduce a product and service which operates in the U.S. with the intent to expand within foreign markets eventually. The service that I chose is a current service in the food service industry that does exist but would benefit from enhancing it; there are market trends for the new service that would definitely satisfy potential customers’ needs and wants once the idea is brought to their attention. The goal is to bring the feel of the city’s fine dining and lounging experience to areas outside the city without having to travel far or spend more. The service is an
Marketing basically involves a series of processes that focus on determining customers' wants and then providing the necessary product to them. This process can also be regarded as the procedure of developing and implementing initiatives that are geared toward identifying, expecting, and satisfying the wants and demands of customers in a way that also generates profits. Marketing not only contains several important principles but it also consists of four major elements that are commonly known as the 4P's. The four main elements of marketing that are also known as the marketing mix are product, pricing, promotion, and place. Through the marketing process, the major goal of all marketers is to establish more value for customers. In order to create such value to customers, there is need for managers to understand the marketing principles that are crucial for effective marketing strategies and practices.
As I reflect back over these last five weeks I now have a clearer view of marketing and how it affects not just the consumers of the world and the companies with their marketing managers, but how it affects me. Yes, I am a consumer who clips coupons, budgets my finances, and looks for sale items and this marketing class has taught me that marketing is more than selling or advertising. Marketing managers have a difficult job, as marketing involves identifying, meeting and satisfying the needs of customers or clients with goods and or services. Coming up with different strategies and marketing mixes is challenging because we live in a changing world with people who needs and financial situations are different. Yet still marketing engulfs every part of our daily lives. From what type of breakfast we eat, to where we shop, and even in our work environment. As I examine marketing, I will blend aspect to my career path as I make myself marketable for the future and aid my employer in the growth and survival in the economy.

Currently, McDonald’s has over 35,000 restaurants operating all over the world in over 100 countries, which adds up to serving around 100 million people per day(Statista). All of this wasn’t possible if it wasn’t for Ray Kroc. In 1954, Ray Kroc had used all of his life savings in a becoming the exclusive distributor for a company that distributed milk shake makers called Multimixer. Kroc had heard word that there was a hamburger stand in California called McDonald’s, running 8 Multimixers at a time and he wanted to know why they needed so many for one hamburger stand, so he went to California to visit the stand. Having a menu with not many items to choose from, Kroc was surprised at how many people were coming to buy McDonald’s food. Kroc was so intrigued, he asked the owners, Dick and Mac MacDonald, to open more restaurants, which he would do personally. The first McDonald’s restaurant that Kroc opened himself was in Des Plaines, Illinois in 1955, which had the first ever Golden Arches (6th most known brand in the world as of 2013)
McDonald’s New Zealand was first established on the 7th of June 1976 in Porirua, around about 20 minutes north of Wellington. Mcdonald's New Zealand has over 166 restaurants nationwide, with approximately one million people visiting them each week. 80% of Mcdonald's restaurants in New Zealand are franchised by local businessmen and women. When Mcdonald's first ever opened this was their vision for the business, “Mcdonald’s vision is to be the world’s best quick service restaurant experience. Being the best means providing outstanding quality, service, cleanliness, and values, so that we make every customer in every restaurant smile.” -
I am going to describe about McDonald’s. McDonald’s is the fast food branch probably known for their great burgers. The company started in 1953 as Insta-McDonald’s, a Jacksonville, Florida-based restaurant chain. Insta a Spanish Word means Calls. After Insta-McDonald’s ran into financial difficulties in 1954, its two Miami-based franchisees, David Edgerton and James McLamore, purchased the company and renamed it McDonald’s. McDonald’s has been started in 1954 in the US. McDonald’s entered in New Zealand Market in later 1990s.
McDonald has been a well-known and valuable brand for over half a century. The company’s mission and vision is striving to be the world’s best quick service restaurant and formalizing their beliefs into “People, Vision, and People Promise”. “Quality, Service, Cleanliness and Value” also became the company’s motto. The company’s first McDonald store was built “in 1940 by the original McDonald brothers, Dick and Mac. Later in 1954, Ray Kroc became the first official franchisee appointed by Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernardino, California” (Chandiramani, Ravi). Soon after, Mr. Kroc opened his first restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois, and the McDonald’s corporation was created. The new franchise began to grow rapidly as a result of its

Although the economic crisis has waned down, most companies are going through hard times trying to garner client confidence. This comes in the wake of regulations to see companies retain more equity mean, easier legal frameworks, and uncertainty about lending thereby forcing firms to apply strategies and restructuring plans to attract more business and stay relevant amidst growing competition. Restructuring thus requires a clearly defined plan in a skillful way to ensure that a company achieves success. This paper seeks to identify the strategies CaliFoods, Inc. a fictional retail outlet would use to improve its business.
Burger King was originally a strong competitor for McDonalds, but that has changed. Perhaps the reason is that Burger King has changed hands many times since its inception and has been on and off the stock exchanges, whereas McDonald’s has not undergone all of these changes. It is not as if Burger King is not a competitor, however, as this organization still has $4.5 billion in sales as an organization, with 4,743 restaurants (BK.com, 2014). The total restaurant count includes 402 international restaurants in 25 countries (BK.com,
