The 1930s was a wonderful decade. The 1930s was full of good and bad things. There were many new inventions, fashions, and events.
One important event of the 1930s is the Great Depression. The Great Depression started in 1929 and ended in 1939. It lasted 10 years. The Great Depression put many people in misery. A lot of people committed suicide because they lost almost everything they had. In 3 years, the nation's total economic output dropped 43%. $104 billion in 1929 to $58 billion in 1932. Lost of farm industries shrank because of the Great Depression. The employer's got pay cuts and even some got laid off. People couldn't even afford to buy clothes. In 1933, Hitler became chancellor, chief minister of Germany. Hitler ended all democracy and established totalitarian rule. Hitler and Stalin signed the treaty: Soviet- German Non Aggression Pact. This pact freed Hitler to use force against Poland without fear. Hitler sent his troops to poland on September 1, 1939. One fashion of the 1930’s is the nylon stockings. Women decided to wear nylon stockings for accessories. Nylon stockings were the most man made thing used. It is very popular. The nylon stockings are inexpensive. The nylon stockings provided women with another accessory. The nylon stocking was invented in the mid 20s- mid 50s. The nylon stocking is still used today. Women wear them under shorter dresses that show more leg. If some people didn't own nylons. they would use an eyebrow pencil to draw them on and make people think she was wearing them.
One invention of the 1930s is the electric guitar. Leo Fender invented the electric guitar. It was invented in 1930. This invention changed American life by giving the world joy from music. The electric guitar is still used today all around the world. People were happy the electric guitar came out to make music even better. The electric guitar made music so much more fun to make.
