The Misdeed That Lead to Doom It started as a typical day at Elwood elementary with all the children outside to play a rapid game of tag before the first call to commence the class. Clarissa and her best friend Ann rushed inside as soon as the teacher announced, “All students report to first block”.
Both girls sprinted to obtain seats, since the majority of the class never figured out a specific arrangement to sit. To prevent another day of arguments with other classmates, Clarissa and Ann banded together to get seats next to one another. Their plan was successful with both seated in the front of the class. Clarissa and Ann looked at each other and Clarissa whispered with delight, “Ann looks like our mission was a success.” Ann just

Before the benchmark was to start all students had to place their phones in the box. With that the test had commenced with all students focused to get this benchmark finished in an efficient speed. After hours of tedious work through the pages of the test the test administrator paused the time to let students have a 30 minute break outside of the test room the administrator told students to stay in the hallway or go to the restroom. Clarissa motioned to Ann to go with her to the restroom once inside she was ready to tell Ann what she saw. Clarissa stated with excitement, “Look Ann they just left the classes phones in a box in the other room.” Ann looks out the restroom window and turn towards the room across the hall and saw the stacks of phones in the room. Clarissa decided to turn this break into an adventure and sneak her phone out. Clarissa wanted Ann to join in on what seemed a simple task with a grand reward. So, Clarissa whispered, “Ann lets’ go and get our phones it will be quick plus I can show you a picture of my pet iguana.” While Ann was worried that both of them would get caught and receive zeros on the benchmark although she decided it was better to go with Clarissa then stay alone until the break was over. This was a grave mistake for once they started the walk to the room with their phones there was an ominous sound and the door abruptly opened. Both girls became wide eyed when they looked inside
A person who is called a friend almost always thinking for your greater good, but what if they had an ulterior motive? The true identity of said person may closely resemble this friend in question. All the prosperity of any work, or deed done gravitates to this person, while the suffering party remains stuck behind in the shambles created not by them. An internal conflict often bubbles within, questioning if the name of victim belongs to their status. Yet, by the time awareness has struck, all but one remains in good graces. The importance of seeing the worst before it comes does not always come along. “The Headstrong Historian” and Things Fall Apart symbolizes what is good for one is bad for another.
My first day of the second grade, I knew no one except the teacher and my younger brother. Kindergarten and first grade had been easy enough, but I was scared of the upcoming year. The only thing I knew about being the new kid was that it hadn’t panned out too great for Addie from the American Girl books. Mrs. Henson’s class was fairly quiet throughout the day, for most kids were nervous or tired. We neared the end of the day and I was ecstatic over the fact that hadn’t made a complete fool of myself. I hadn’t met anyone yet, but I thought that that would be a challenge for another day. Unfortunately, that’s not what Mrs. Henson had in mind. She sent us all out to recess with a grin plastered on her face and with me practically kicking
There were ten children and three teachers in the class. The teachers have a structure scheduled for their class. Breakfast is the first on their list followed by an hour recess at the playground. The kids were very active and engaging in exploring their environment and interacting with children from different age groups. At the end of the recess, the teachers lined the kid-up and walked them to the toilet to void.
Three theories of stress, arousal and anxiety that are all linked with a common theme are Individual Zone of Optimal Functioning, Inverted-U theory, and Catastrophe theory. These three are linked by the theme of function of behaviour equals person times situation. These theories can help to explain arousal and anxiety levels of athletes in specific situations and the outcome of their performance, whether they succeed or fail. This essay will focus on the person times situation theme and how athletes need to find the correct balance of arousal and anxiety so they can perform at their best in a given situation. Situations may include the dying seconds of a match where the outcome is in their hands, or it might be a grand final, or any moment
One of the oldest dilemmas in philosophy is also one of the greatest threats to Christian theology. The problem of evil simultaneously perplexes the world’s greatest minds and yet remains palpably close to the hearts of the most common people. If God is good, then why is there evil? The following essay describes the problem of evil in relation to God, examines Christian responses to the problem, and concludes the existence of God and the existence of evil are fully compatible.
with some evil in it. Better? Why would God being so good and concerned about
Have you ever felt the need to give up? Pressured with difficult issues, later to find you made the wrong turn losing everything? What normally separates the successful from the hopeless, is their ability to maneuver through tough times, and if made wrong decisions correct them for a later day. Henry Ford once said, “ Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, only this time more wisely”. After the First World War, many countries were left with an immense amount of debt load. Not many jobs were not being produced for veterans and cities were war struck. Nations and the world at large was in a catastrophic mess. Chances of things looking like before the War were slim. By the 1920’s, all views of negativity had changed. Canada’s economy seemed to boom more than ever. Natural resources such as the sale of minerals and increased taxes on imported products were amongst the many reasons why Canadians thought they were on the right track. Then came the great downfall, by which both rich and poor suffered. Many Canadians were shaken from their core. The Great Depression was known to be the most disastrous decade in Canadian history, coming unannounced, with impacts on political, economical, and social aspects.
Paul’s father made the choice of moving him and his family to Tangerine Florida, because he got a new job offer and wanted to take it. Paul was excited for his fresh start at a new school with a new name other than “Mars.” Moving to a new school was great for Paul at first, but then everything went downhill from the time he walked through the doors of Lake Windsor Middle School. Paul was told that his classes were outside in portable classrooms, while the sixth graders would be inside with regular classrooms to be in. At the end of the day, everything got worse. Paul faces another complication at Lake Windsor Middle School.
These three were clearly out of place in Verhilla’s classroom. One day, the class had a rehearsal in Circle Theater. The three girls wanted to take advantage of not being in a classroom. They noticed that Mrs. Verhilla had brought her purse to the theater. Mary suggested that they devise a plan to steal her purse and get out of the theater with no problems. The rehearsal started and Mary informed the teacher that she was going to the bathroom. The other two girls asked to do the same; Verhilla said to wait until Mary returned. Mary then sneaked around the building behind the teacher with her purse within reach. Mary gave Linda and Sally a signal. Sally then told Verhilla that Mary had returned. Being in the back of the scene set, the girls had no trouble sneaking out. Mary grabbed the purse and the three casually walked out the back door, into the main school building, and off of the campus. The rehearsal had ended and Mrs. Verhilla noticed that her purse and the three girls were gone. Mrs. Verhilla informed her husband about the matter and a police report was filed. She then called all three of the girls’ parents, but none answered. She
They made their way up the stairs, turned to the left and they entered a room where three girls were lying on a bed. One of the,
All of the walls are plastered with student work of hand-cut construction paper snowflakes and stockings. In the mornings, excited students swarm the hallway as they look for their classroom and their teacher. Echoes of “good mornings” bounce around the hallway from student to teacher. But farther down the hallway, the older students are not as excited for the day while the bare walls match their expressionless faces. About halfway down this hallway is a wide staircase down leading to the fourth grade classrooms. It is rather quiet in this hallway because there is a distinct lack of
Upon entering the classroom, Deyonnah was sitting at the table eating popcorn. She had a doll and a pair of stethoscopes on the table next to her popcorn. Deyonnah got up, ran to the toy bin and brought a camera to the table. She sat back down in her seat and continued to eat her popcorn. Ms. Piedad walked over to Deyonnah and pushed her chair closer to the table. One of the students shouted, “I’m going to blocks!” Another student repeated, “I’m going to blocks too.” Both students got up and ran to the block center. Deyonnah jumped out of her chair and ran to the cabinet and grabbed the whisper phone. Ms. Piedad removed the whisper phone and redirected Deyonnah back to the table to finish eating her popcorn. Deyonnah began to cry and scream.
When the door reopens the coach, principal, and what looks like a high school student enters the room. The principal says, “This is Selmy and she’s a new student and I expect all of you to show her how good of a school we have.” After that the principal leaves, coach shows the new girl where she’ll be sitting, and what she’ll need for this class. Now to myself I think: “She don’t needa waste her money cuz we dont do nothing in here anyway.” As the class comes to an end I notice that the girl never said anything to anyone and she never made eye-contact, she just looked down at her desk the entire time. It was time for us to change classes, so I tapped her on her shoulder and said, “We have math
There were many events in history that have stood out due to how disastrous they were. One of these events was when Bill Clinton delivered his speech about the Oklahoma Bombing and another one of these events was when Robert F. Kennedy announced the death of Martin Luther King Jr. both of them delivered their speech to motivate the people, reassure them and to make sure the people don’t despise the ones responsible for the events.
Mrs. Ross has her fourth grade students move their desks together into groups of 2 to do a group activity. She instructs them to pair with anyone they choose. Teresa raises her hand, “I don’t want to pair with Megan again because she doesn’t do any of the work. Can I have someone else?” Megan who is soft-spoken just looks down at the floor as the class waits for the teacher’s response. Mrs. Ross asks Teresa and Megan to come with her outside and instructs the class to carry on with the activity.
