Engineering is the study of scientific, economic and much more explain more about what It is. Engineer’s incorporate ideas from other people and start to build off of them. They have the ability to take something that has already been invented and build from it to innovate the object that was already built and make it better. In Engineering there are four major disciplines which are: chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Engineering has been around from about the ancient times. There have been many great inventions since then. Many of the things that have been constructed or built in the world have happened because of engineering. The four disciplines of

Highways have been built and have increased in time to make them larger, longer, and bigger. These highways were built to avoid traffic and to not use local streets. They were built with good safety and precision. The discipline that Is mostly used in this achievement Is civil engineering. Civil engineering has to do with building and that’s how highways were built architecture had to do with this as well. Highways are a big part of the American society and other societies as well. The highways were built to increase transportation in cars and how they can travel in faster ways to get to places quicker and faster. These highways have a safe and nice structure which makes it more economical to society. Ever since highway have been built they have had less accidents on local streets around the city. This makes things safer. Architecture was is a big part when they build highways or when they had built them. Architecture is an expansion of civil engineering, this is good when you have to build something such as highways because architectures take the time to make what they build very steady and strong for it to stay in place and stay steady. This is achievement I have chosen because it has to do with what I am interested in, which is civil engineering and the study of architecture.
My Grand Challenge
My grand challenge that I have chosen is restored and improve urban infrastructure. This is related to
Engineering has been around for millenniums. The term engineering has been around since 1325. Since then, engineering has expanded from working on engines for the military to designing and working on just about everything today. (Wikipedia p. 1) Out of all of the different divisions of engineering there are three that specifically interest me. These divisions are aerospace, electrical, and mechanical.
An Engineer is defined as a person whose job involves thinking out a problem and providing solution in advance. It includes but not limited to designing and building engines, machines, roads, bridges, etc or a person who is trained to repair and control engines. An engineer can be Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Materials, Electronic, Petroleum, Software, Chemical, etc. Engineers are also found in military barracks because they design and build military structures and equipments, so they can be soldiers as well. We also
2) I have successfully managed over $90 million highly visible design sequencing projects on the I-15, which implemented corridor concepts as a Senior Transportation Engineer (STE). As a STE for 14 years, I have collaborated with external agencies, transportation partners, local communities, contractors, and with internal functional units, and the Corridor Director; and coordinated with adjacent projects to reduce impacts to the public due to construction activities and kept them informed of upcoming construction activities. I have also effectively completed over 20 projects, these projects were completed on time, 10 to 35 percent under budget, these projects include the following: roadway improvement, major maintenance, freeway and interchange widening, bridge seismic retrofit, bridge overlay, and compaction grouting. In the past 8 years as a Project Manager/Design Manager (PM/DM), I have effectively planned, assigned, directed, and coordinated the work of 15 multidisciplinary staff in performing constructability reviews (CR), utility engineering, ADA engineering, and CADD support to serve District 11 (D11) and other transportation partners in delivering all the capital outlay program. Served as the point of contact for Design’s participation in the Construction/Design joint task force to improve the quality of plans, communication, coordination, and lesson learned with Construction. I have successfully delivered D11 (ADA) Design
Society has always been a continuous community of movement; trying to get from one place to another. Commuting citizens, cargo and information has always been a significant contributor to the economic and societal life of many municipalities. From the industrial age, society has been progressively reliant on different transportation systems in order to accomplish trade, distribution of supplies, tourism and so on. As the suburban sprawl continues to expand, technology advances. The resources needed to attain successful transportation has evolved over many historical revolutions to accommodate a growing population and the immense density of a growing city. Developments in mechanics has permitted people to move faster with greater amount of supplies and travel longer distances, but not without challenges. Urban planners have an outlying role in freeway development that explains the challenges needed to be overcome to excel in successful transportation services. Urban planners have the duty to conduct political negotiations between different levels of the government to excel and expand our urban society. Information needed to fully understand the evolution will demonstrate the importance and impact freeway systems have on urban and suburban lifestyles.
Engineers are required to develop sustainable solutions for the community. This includes understanding community protocols which provides respect and an optimised solution. Communication styles both verbal and non-verbal will increase effectiveness. Cultural awareness within an engineering team which is key to working effectively. Complying with the Australian code of ethics will ensure you are a successful engineer.
After all, an engineer is someone who is innovative and is focused on improving human standards, whether it's in health, transportation, or even in the environment. An engineer is the one who makes improvements in the life of people and our daily life commutes.
According to Dictionary.com, engineering is a branch of science and technology that works with design and building. Also engineering is a career that focuses on solving problems by using the design process.Engineers work on the following: they solve, design, test and building things that humans use on a daily use.
role of an engineer. An engineer with a wide range of knowledge and broad base of technical skills cutting across
What is engineering? Engineering is the study of innovating and problem solving in order to create a better method. What type of work does engineers do? Engineering is a diverse field that can put you in a situation that requires you to know more knowledge and skills than you already have. Stretching all the way from problem solving to working together to create new ideas (2012 Project Lead the Way, Inc. IED Activity 1.5 Discover Engineering-Page1. https://pltw.instructure.com/courses/121874/assignments/581896. Engineers can change the world. They think of creative solutions and work with others, motivating people to invent, design, and create things that are useful and that matter.
Engineer combines the field of science and math to solve real world problems to make it a better place (Google Definition). Engineering is a diverse field of work there are many disciplines within engineering that can involve the application of a very different body of knowledge and skills (2012 Project Lead The Way, Inc. IED Activity 1.5Discover Engineering-page1). There are a lot of disciplines within engineering, naming all is too much, the most common engineer discipline are civil, chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
When you hear of the word engineering, what comes to mind? Do you think of a train engine rolling over the plains of South Dakota? Maybe you think of a bridge or a road? If you thought of either of those things, you are correct. Furthermore, Civil Engineering is all of these things and a little more. “Civil engineering is arguably the oldest engineering discipline. It deals with the built environment and can be dated to the first time someone placed a roof over his or her head or laid a tree trunk across a river to make it easier to get across (Civil Engineering).” Some of the first ever examples of the civil engineering was the roof and the bridge. Eventually, our knowledge and tools advanced to enhance the durability and aestheticism of roads, bridges, and buildings. In addition to roads and bridges, civil engineering also deals with planes, cars, and boats as well.
As mentioned above, it is very important for engineers to understand their own responsibilities. In 1960, the Conference of Engineering Societies of Western Europe and the United States of America defined "professional engineer" as follows:1 “A professional engineer is competent by virtue of his/her fundamental education and training to apply the scientific method and outlook to the analysis
Science, technology, and engineering can represent the same things. First, science is the study of the natural world through experimentation. Technology can represent machinery and different equipment under scientific knowledge. While engineering represents both science and technology such as creating tools. As you can tell that these three things have many in common but they have differences as well. Science for instance comes from observing the environment or natural world. While engineering allows you to create new tools and devices. Technology is all about creation and testing various devices out and see how it can impact society. For example, as stated in the book with science and technology “Technology is based above all on the application of knowledge. But you don’t necessarily need a lot of knowledge to research. When the full history of technology is surveyed it is apparent that most technologies have been developed and applied with little scientific input (page 61)”.
As an civil servant determined that the engineer is a post that has the scope, duties, responsibilities, and authority to conduct technology in a functional working groups in the field of applied research, development, engineering, and operations.
The first one is the dealing and understanding of mechanical science which includes dealing with physical science and the relations with heat, energy, and power. The second one is the process of research, development, and design. The third one is the production of products and power which includes planning, maintenance, and operation. The fourth one is the coordinating job of the mechanical engineer including management, negotiation, and commerce."An engineer is called to ponder and think-out-every possible approach to a given problem" (Reyes-Guerra 6). A mechanical engineer needs to do all of these thing in order to work in this field. To be an engineer, a person must be inquisitive and a problem solver that uses logic and imagination. An engineer must be able to get along with other people and make relationships. Engineers must think outside the box in order to solve complex
