Although, everyone is taught the same writing process they still have their own way of writing. In order to make their paper standout, they need to think creatively. Writing can be a piece of cake or difficult for students. Many students pay attention to certain steps more. I pay more attention to brainstorming ideas, but sometimes in order to be an effective writer I need to focus on everything as a whole. When the outline is complete, I then come up with my thesis statement. Writing the thesis statement after the brainstorming and outlining can give you a good sense of how your essay will turn out. The thesis statement needs to have a good hook to catch the reader, so having all the information before the thesis statement can only help your essay. Once analyzing, brainstorming, and outlining is complete it’s time to write. Beginning the writing process is the hardest for me. The beginning of each paragraph is difficult, especially when I know what I want to say, but don’t know how to write it. It is hard to write what I want to express in each paragraph. Time is either my savior or my enemy I prefer not to be rushed when I’m writing. Some people can write for days in a limited time and others need time to process and think, like me. I tend to overthink everything when I’m writing and that usually gets in the way and puts a stop to my writing. I constantly reread every paragraph and write and then reread again. Rereading also gets in the way of finishing a timed essay. Writing becomes easier when there is no stress present. After all the distractions are gone writing becomes easier. Immediately after I am finished writing my complete essay, I proofread. Proofreading comes in different forms while some people look for any mistakes that pops up I try to proofread two different ways. Looking over your essay only once can
My first step in the writing process has remained relatively the same. I begin by reading the assignment sheet, and then begin brainstorming topics that I could use for the essay. Usually I come up with two or three ideas for me to explore, in case one topic does not have enough information to turn into a good paper. After thinking of a few ideas, I pick one idea that I think is the best, and I try to come up with a basic outline of the paper. Then, I search on Google and read a few articles that I find to see what information is available on the topic and how I can use the information in my paper. It is at this point where I decide whether or not to go ahead with the topic depending on what I find. If I continue on, I widen my search to databases and focus on more credible internet
My writing process, no matter what, always includes brainstorming, rough drafts and proofreading. When I receive an assignment I read the question over what feels like a million times till I fully understand what it is asking. I will make notes on the handout and as soon as ideas come to my mind i will jot them down, even if I do not end up using them. As soon as I get ideas i role with it, even if I have to go back in the end and change everything. Rough drafts come next. I like to write them out first so i can scribble and make notes to myself and fill things in when i need to. I write in pen so sometimes by drafts can be more rough then they should be, but that is how i like it. After my essay is all finished I proofread, many many times.
Writing can be difficult if not done correctly. That is why there is a writing process to follow. Using some type of way to group ideas together help coordinate how the essay will go. Then once the ideas are put together the rough draft can be formed and edited. After everything has been writing accordantly the essay can then be turned in. Some may think the writing process is just some more additional steps to getting their essay done but overall it makes the writing experience easier and more
Personally, from the class of English 1101, I have learned on how to use the writing processes effectively, where the first step is to have a pre-write, which focuses on brainstorming ideas form either the group or from individuals’ brain for the required topic. The second phase of the process is the thesis statement, which is the primary idea of the entire essay. I discovered that the thesis statement should be persuasive and truthful. The third step is on developing drafts, where it showed me on how to focus on content, organization, and style. Again, I noted that I must ask myself who is my audience, and what do they want or need to hear.
Teachers, parents, and friends often tell students exactly what the writing process should entail and how long it should take. However, the older I get, the more I realize that the writing process varies not only from person to person, but also from one writing project to the next. Throughout my years of life, I have written countless papers, ranging from a persuasive speech to an extensive research paper, and each project requires an altered version of my personal writing process. While each individual has his own writing process, there can be many similarities between different writing processes. Finding one’s individual writing process takes trial, error, and repetition. When an individual finally uncovers his unique writing process, better thought, work, and writing is produced.
After writing these few essays, I understand that there are multiple ways I could have improved when in the process of writing. For example, I could have used more quotes to help solidify my writing and support some of my arguments more, I also could have brought in my experiences with history within school and maybe what I was taught about the Cold War, and lastly I think I could explain some of the major leaders better when using for my argument. Having prior knowledge about this topic would probably be the best way to prepare to revise these several essays that I have written.
My writing process is like a baby learning how to walk. During their first year, the baby is busy developing coordination and muscle strength in every part of their body. They will learn to sit, roll over, and crawl before moving on to pulling up and standing. From then on, it's a matter of gaining confidence and balance before they start walking. They will fall over and over again but likewise, they will try over and over again until they’re off and eventually running. High school for me was like a baby’s first year when it’s preparing to start walking and this quarter in EWRT 211 was when I gave the first baby steps. With more practice, I’ll be walking with ease in no time. I believe I will be successful in EWRT 1A.
Finding your own writing process is crucial for a writer in order to write a successful paper. Everyone is unique and everyone’s writing process is going to be unique as well. A writer’s notebook is a perfect way for people to record random thoughts, dialogue you hear, and any other ideas you might hear. Brainstorming is a key technique to get started when composing a paper. Brainstorming allows you to think of different topics that would fulfill the requirements needed on your topic assigned. Freewriting, clustering, listing and outlining, and collaborating are also some other techniques that when practiced could come very useful when writing a paper. Having the ability to use either of these five techniques would help tremendously when composing a paper.
Writing assignments are absolutely the worst, it is my least favorite thing ever. I am not good at writing, especially on the spot. As soon as I am required to write a paragraph, short story, essay, anything that is not a memo or email, every part me just starts to quiver. Before I can start writing, thoughts of what to write roll around in my head like scatter marbles, trying to come up with what to write. A process that can take anywhere an hour to a day. This shortens if I am even a short story first. Reading a story first release my imagination making my direction much clearer. Once I have a clear vision of what I am going to write, my fingers cannot keep up with the words flying through my head. Traditionally, the textbook teaches to

I have a general idea of what I am going to write about, along with a few main points. My writing process is like a puzzle; it is very confusing to most, but makes sense to me. I have realized my faults and how important it is to be more organized in order to improve my writing process.
