Technology differences In today’s society, Albert Einstein exclaims “ It has become appalling obvious that our Technology has exceeded our humanity. In this dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury Guy Montag is a fireman that wants to know the truth about books and why they are banned. In Ray Bradbury's novel, technology is harmful to the story but is helpful in today's life.

In the novel, Technology is supposed to be a great thing to enhance the society, but instead it's more harmful than helpful by brainwashing society and the replacement of social family life. First off when they exclaimed “ She was an expert at lip reading from ten years of apprenticeship at seashell ear thimbles.”(Bradbury 18) The Seashells are brainwashing civilians by taking over their family and their ability to be without them. The fact that she had mastered lip reading shows that she always has her seashells in. After that, social life is also being ruined when Mildred says “ will you turn the parlour off?” he said “That's my family”(Bradbury 35) When television becomes family but Mildreds actual family isnt. …show more content…

According to the Pew Research Center, about 90% of American adults have cell phones which presents communication on an easier level. The fact that this many Americans have cell phones communication so much easier through one another. With long distances between people, technology makes exchanging information simple. For instance, the distance from California to New York is 2,900 miles, without transportation would be much different for the worse. Travel is a key component in almost everything.
