Sept. 1, 2016 Dear Beta Omicron Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma: Beta Omicron Chapter has a long history on the Tulane University campus. Since its founding in 1904, Beta Omicron Chapter has produced many outstanding members who have made significant academic, professional and volunteer contributions. It is the Fraternity’s hope that Beta Omicron Chapter continues to be a positive entity both within our organization and the campus community. Since 2011, Beta Omicron Chapter has been off and on multiple levels of Fraternity Council action based on a disregard for Fraternity expectations that, as a whole, do not reflect the behavior and commitment we expect of the chapters representing Kappa Kappa Gamma. In April 2015, Beta Omicron Chapter was …show more content…
Officers are responsible for understanding the expectations and duties of their positions. Each Chapter Council member and her committee will review the appropriate, updated Leadership Guide. Prior to Oct. 15, hold a discussion of what was learned and make notes in the Chapter Council meeting minutes. Chapter Council officers will describe how their positions contribute to the overall operation of the chapter and adjust their tasks accordingly. • Each Chapter Council officer will work closely with her respective Content Specialist to create a presentation that details the responsibilities of her position. In the weeks leading up to the nomination process, every officer will give her presentation during a chapter meeting. The presentations will allow officers to fully understand their jobs and permit the chapter to understand the role each position plays as well as the new Fraternity structure. • Following the election timeline and with guidance from the District Leadership Development Specialist, the Nominating Committee Chairman will give presentations describing the nomination process and follow the Leadership Guide exactly as it is written. Each individual member is responsible for understanding the election …show more content…
During this time, the incoming Chapter Council will establish goals based on the responses to the chapter survey and develop a strategic plan to achieve them. Chapter advisers are encouraged to attend leadership day. • At the following chapter meeting, Chapter Council will present their strategic plan and how it aligns with Beta Omicron Chapter’s strategic goals. • The Membership Chairman will develop a recruitment strategy in consultation with the District Membership Specialist and share it with the chapter prior to Nov. 15. This strategy will include a focus on pre-recruitment efforts to establish guidelines concerning the type of member to recruit. These guidelines need to be aligned with Kappa values and understood by all members. The chapter will also develop a sustained system for voting during membership selection sessions. Your District Director and Content Specialists are here to support you. Additionally, Jess Morin, is your Coordinator of Chapter Development and she will serve as your point of contact for the Fraternity. Jess will work with Sydney and Chapter Council to ensure that these terms are
The purpose of this letter is to inform you of my interest in becoming a member of the Nu Zeta chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. My desire to have the opportunity to become a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity incorporated is grounded on encounters, characteristics and the prestige purpose and history of the fraternity.
I will also promote organization, such as by implementing the use of Best Buddies Binders, where officers can place notes from both officer meetings and chapter meetings, all meeting agendas, attendance sheets, donation sheets, and other important documents. To improve as a chapter, at the end of each quarter officers and advisors will meet and complete evaluations as a group based on what we have improved on and what we need to improve on. We will pinpoint what worked well and what we should do differently to provide the best possible Best Buddies experience for all. We will also continue to utilize social media, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Remind 101, by updating these accounts with pictures, videos, stories, and announcements weekly. If selected as CP, I would also work with officers and advisors to spread the message of Best Buddies and increase membership, such as by having an announcement at Freshmen Orientation and “advertising” Best Buddies in our school magazine and/or on the BMHS Pride Time Instagram

The Zeta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Iota Rho (ΣΙΡ) is new. The two most challenging aspects of any new organization are recognition and legitimacy. I would tackle the first challenge by organizing events and fundraisers for members and potential members. Outreach is key for a young organization to be heard and noticed by members of the campus community. I would tackle the second challenge by assisting the executive board in the organization of seminars and panels featuring topics related to International Studies. This would also include contacting potential guest speakers from Washington to speak. I could also be the point of contact between ΣΙΡ and other campus organizations (i.e. Model UN) to ensure the consistency of our goals. I would use the ΣΙΡ website to discover new resources for our chapter. Finally, I would uphold the values of ΣΙΡ, encourage participation and lead by example.
Work with Board of Directors to establish, implement and maintain the corporate mission and vision and assist with setting the strategic direction of the organization.
With new leadership, the officers recommended that the old officers would show them the ropes of how the chapter worked. Each officer met with the previous officer who held their position. Once that was done the officer team decided to do a fellowship activity to understand each other and become family.
The adviser should have a broad knowledge of the responsibilities of each office and the ability to work objectively with the Nominating Committee to produce a balanced slate. Due to her experience and chapter knowledge, the Chapter Council Adviser is normally the Nominating Committee Adviser. However, another adviser may be named if the Chapter Council Adviser is unable to serve. The Nominating Committee Adviser’s duties are to:
These meetings should be scheduled in the semester following Initiation and before the end of their first year of membership with Kappa Kappa Gamma. Ideas for these meetings can be found in the appendix. These meetings should meet the following goals. 1.
As VP of MathSoc, I will build upon the already successful line up of events that have happened this past year. To accomplish this goal, I will recruit heavily throughout the year and form a core group of student leaders charged with organizing each major event.
