The American public's fascination with serial murders has not only continuously kept these violent men and women in the public eye, but has also inspired the creation of films that demonstrate and dramatize the heinous crimes committed by these people. One such film program that adapts crimes committed by serial murderers, and the murderers themselves, is The Silence of the Lambs (1991). Through a combination of criminology, psychology, and sociology, The Silence of the Lambs is able to not only inform audiences of the dangerous types of people that currently inhabit society, but also of the individuals who study serial murderers with the intent of apprehending them before they commit any more crimes and to help identify these murderers victims.

In the movie, the Babadook, the characters express their grief that never leaves. It grows as “monster” that one learns how to deal with because losing someone is never gets easier. These scenes are compared and contrasted through mise-en-scè, cinematography, and editing. This scene analysis is going relate two scenes that helps understand what one goes through after a lost. The movie has characters that help express the misery of one that doesn’t learn how to grieve in a proper manner. How one overcomes the pain and changes for the better and slowly has better days. A brighter day might not come tomorrow, but learning how to control your days come within time.

The Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a Visual text about a 13-year-old boy named Ricky. Ricky changes and develops in the bush and at his new home throughout the whole story. He had never had a real family; he'd been thrust aside, from home to home, getting pushed to the side and abandoned. He never knew what it was like to have a real family who loved him. Since he never felt loved it caused him to retaliate and do many bad things.

Animal kingdom (2010) is an Australian movie about a seventeen-year-old boy named Josh Cody who is immersed in a world of crime during the mid-1980’s. Due to the death of his mother Josh is left with no other option then to move in with his criminal relatives. Josh’s grandmother Janine (also referred to as ‘Smurf’) welcomes Josh to live with her and her three beloved sons, Andrew (Pope), Craig and Darren. Craig is a mid level drug dealer whilst Pope and his best friend Barry Brown (Baz) are armed robbers and are training the youngest of the three, Darren, to follow in their ways. Through engaging in consistent criminal activity Andrew has captured the attention of Melbourne’s Armed Robbery Squad. This situation is then quickly escalated into an all out war, as the authorities are responsible for the death of Barry. Which according to the director, David Michod, isn’t uncommon for the time period it is set in, having the movie supposedly based off a true story. The movie focuses on the effects of growing up in a world where criminal activity is apart of daily routine. Given this, the two key theories used to explain the family’s crime rate are Sutherlands differential association theory and General Strain Theory.

The 2016 film Lion, which was first a book called “A Long Way Home”, is a film where a boy named Saroo was separated from his brother in the train station, which leads to Saroo getting on a train taking him thousands of miles away from his family and his home. Saroo, who was only five-years-old when he got lost, had to learn to survive alone in Kolkata, West Bengal. Days after arriving to Kolkata, the city the train left him at, he got admitted into an orphanage, which later turned out to him getting adopted by an Australian couple. Book by James Lapine was a great story overall. I truly enjoyed watching the show especially when the Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim played perfectly during the show. Director Eve Himmelheber was able to put out a such an amazing show. I really enjoyed watching Into The Woods because it was colorful, every character was really great with their role, and so much more. I could not be more amazed of how beautiful the production came out. Musical Director Mitchell Hanlon was really great with every musical that played throughout the show. He was always in time of making the sound when a character would kick the floor or any action that was necessary during the play. Scenic Designer Mauri Anne Smith and Ashley Strain created such an amazing setting for the production. The scene looked very realistic, which is really great because it gave me a different feel of the show. Costume Designer Michelle Kincaid created such beautiful costumes for every single character. Whether the costumes were bought, hand made, or both it still came out pretty good. The costume definitely matched the theme of having several characters from different show. Lighting Designer Ben Hawkins made the interior and

the first of its kind to be made with a small budget, unknown cast, and limited resources. This proves that this film is unique by showing how differently the director and actors

The actors and actresses did well in their assigned rolls and I wish I could congratulate them on finishing the run. They worked together very well in all of the group musical numbers regardless of how hard they can be to coordinate at times. If I had to rate this performance of the musical it would get a 9/10. The acting, singing, costumes and costume changes, scenery and of course, the plot, are all wonderful and this is a must see. The only thing lacking was the cues and lighting, the use of the gobos was lacking and there was not as much color change as I would have enjoyed

     The actors are believable in their roles. Steven Martin who acts as George Banks is outstanding in his role, he acts very well, so the audience knows his feelings, and feels sorry for him. The stars are not the main reason for me to see the film, but the title is.

Though the starring actors have plenty of box-office power, the acting was mediocre at best. The film should have been called the Charlize Theron movie, because let’s face it; the movie was all about her dramatic portrayal of the evil queen. This establishes a motif of the stained glass window in General Stern wood’s home in the first chapter of the novel and is an appropriate motif in dictating Marlowe’s knightly role in the novel. The stained glass that is reflected in the novel places Marlowe in the position of the knight as it shows a knight who strives to reach a woman to set her free. The fact that he stares at the glass makes him develop the need to offer assistance. This motif is suitable because it sets the stage for what is to take place in the aftermath when Marlowe rescues Carmen. Secondly, Chandler tries to connect Marlowe with the knightly personality from the beginning of the novel that he intended to name his detective the modern knight and a brave man fighting for General Sternwood. He takes the role of the servant to Sternwood’s lord and therefore, in the knightly terms, it is sufficient to say that Marlowe is striving to find justice. Moreover, he is dedicated to rendering his services in the line of duty with much loyalty and honor despite the sexual and financial temptations that come his way. Like the ancient knights, Marlowe has deeply invested in his personal code of chivalry that contain among others, the need to overcome the sexual temptation of whatever magnitude that comes his way. Lastly, as a representation of the modern-day knight, Marlowe comes out in the novel as a tough detective and a brave individual

The Silence of the Lambs directed by Jonathan Demme in 1991 is said to be the best Crime, Drama, Thrillers.. all in one. The movie The Silence of the Lambs that won the Best Picture Oscar for my year(1991) clearly adheres to and reflects the influence of Hero's Journey story structure from Acts one, two, and three throughout the whole movie by using Call To Adventure, Crossing the threshold, Tests, Enemies and Allies, Ordeal , and Return With The Elixir. The main Character Clarice is assigned to work on a case where she must interview Dr. Lecter (Hannibal "the Cannibal") who is known as one of the most frightening serial killers of all time to aid her and give her clues to in order to figure out the cause behind Buffalo Bills Murders.

    The animated movie, Zootopia, is about an unlikely partnership between Judy Hopps who is rabbit police officer and Nick Wilde who is a red fox as well as a con artist. In the beginning of the film, it shows Judy as a young bunny and then progresses to when she’s older and has fulfilled her dream of becoming the first rabbit police officer in Zootopia. On her first day of the job, she was assigned to parking duty despite being top in her class. She asks to be put onto one of the cases of the fourteen missing animals but is dismissed by her Chief, Bogo. While giving out tickets, she’s hustled by Nick. The next day, Judy abandons parking duty to make an arrest and Chief  Bogo lectures her. Mrs. Otterton enters Bogos office begging for someone to find her husband Emmitt, 1 of 14 predators went missing. Judy volunteers, causing Bogo to fire her for insubordination until the assistant mayor praises her letting the mayor know she 's taking the case. Bogo gives her 48 hours to find Otterton on the condition that she must resign if she fails. Judy blackmails Nick into helping her on finding Mr. Otterton since he was the last to see him. They discover the missing animals and anyone involved was arrested.
