Efficiency And Effectiveness Compared
In management, these two terms are distinct from each other having slightly varying meanings because at times one may have to opt for efficiency over effectiveness or vice versa.
The term efficiency is basically the ability to maintain quality of a task using a particular ability and the least amount of inputs. Effectiveness is a more straight forward direct response to a given task. Being effective means achieving present goals and measuring up against those goals.
Effectiveness vs Efficiency – The Conflict
One can achieve both at the same time but it is rare. Most of the time to become effective one has to lose out on efficiency. These two measurement sticks are dualities that are always in conflict. The goal of any management is to achieve a high level of both or rather a combined high level.
For any management team or executive, the pursuit to merge a good amount of these two qualities together requires some amount of sacrifice. To become highly effective, efficiency has to be first sacrificed after which it can be slowly increased without a considerable drop in effectiveness. This is the most accepted method used by managers because results matter to clients and customers instead of the cost of acquiring it.
Q2# Explain why values, attitudes and assumptions are of critical importance in managerial behaviour and organisations.

Which activities at Camp Bow Wow require high efficiency? Which activities require high effectiveness? Efficiency refers to the amount of resources used to achieve the organization’s goals. Effectiveness is a broader term, meaning the degree to which an organization achieves its goals. A high performance organization is one that achieves goals to the maximum extent possible (effectiveness) while making the best use of limited resources
Thus, if employees are treated in a Theory X manner, they will become lazy. If they
Efficiency: Whatever idea, thought, plan or action we do, must be efficient enough to make us reach our set goal.
On this forum a learning organization refers to the organizational style allow for a certain degree of flexibility that hinder being constrain by structure; in simple terms, this approach allows for the organization to not only adapt to, but embrace change in order to attain the desired market position (Purhaghshenas, and Esmatnia, 2012, p.244). On the other hand, an efficient performance organization refers to the classical approach in which a scientific and systematic approach that primarily focused on the administrative and

These four elements all work together to create the success of an organization. These elements can easily related to many of the shifts that we have seen in many areas of our day-to-day lives. Healthcare is one area of our lives that I feel continues to change to become more efficient. New practices are being implemented daily to improve ways patients are cared for. The implementation of technology has become an important part of healthcare and will continue to grow in use. Our patient population over the past several years has evolved and become more educated on the hospitals they choose and their illness. When they come into the hospitals they are expecting a high level of care. According to Wikipedia (ND), efficiency is used as an ideal practice to achieve a goal. Relating this to healthcare we see new systems in place such as urgent cares, or even clinics so a greater number of patients can be seen increasing revenue. Not only that since many of these
Effectiveness in meeting team targets: Employees need to be effective in meeting team targets so they keep on top of all of the work they have to do and also so the decisions they have to make as a business are made smoothly. This will also increase their reputation if all decisions are made more effectively and quicker so could increase the number of regular customers for the business. This will also mean that the staff will be able to help customer quickly and efficiently.
Administrative efficiency: if everything is administered in a good and efficient way, it can also help achieve the business goal.
This is a good fit for someone who is a strong enough personality to maintain the perfect example for employees.
Effective and Efficient: To maximise your time and performance it's very important to be effective and efficient with your work because this maximises your performance and time to work greater. It's important to allocate time and resources effectively, learn to direct work so it is effective, concentrate on results and not on being busy. A good rule to follow is the 80:20 rule. The 80:20 is how much unfocused effort you put in and how much results come out of it. For example 80 percent of unfocused effort generates only 20 percent of results. It can also be the other way round so 80 percent of results can be achieved with only 20 percent effort. In other words in most situations 80 percent of our time is virtually time wasting while only 20 percent is productive. Always focus on effectiveness first then

Efficiency is the distribution of and productive use of resources and Equality is the social policy ensuring that every citizen has the free right to access necessary resources, minimizing intense differences, in both opportunities and in outcomes.
Efficiency studies may lead to an improvement in a process or job. Effectiveness studies may serve to eliminate it. Although both are important, effectiveness studies should come first, since there's little point in improving something that may later be eliminated. The best example is the Samsung Galaxy S6 camera which was 16 mega pixels. However, recent Galaxy S7 camera has been reduced to 12 mega pixel and has been beautifully used to improve auto focus which played an important role in Galaxy S7 sale. Never underestimate the importance of efficiency; but never strive for efficiency at the expense of effectiveness.
7. Effectiveness and Efficiency. These two terms have different meanings, described in our textbook “Management Foundations” (Bartol, Tein, Matthews, Sharma and Scott-Ladd, pg 12, 2011) thus:
The following is information learned about each country that would aid HRM planning and decision-making: German managers achieve status by demonstrating technical skills. Netherlands management approaches rely on cohesiveness and collaboration to exchange ideas with workers to create a productive work environment. Education is provided through government funding through the graduate school level. India is a collectivist culture emphasizing the person-organization fit as a predictor of the turnover rate in that country. Individual technical skills are prevalent in their pool of talent. Management styles are less authoritarian and include more group decision-making processes.
