Brands use advertising, essential in today's economy, for anything from food to technology. The company Banana Boat uses advertisements to sell their new sun comfort sunscreen through a plethora of techniques that affect and move people to buy their sunscreen.

American society has changed drastically over the past years and some people say advertisements reflect the society that we live in now. Advertising in our society encourages unhealthy habits, focuses in on our weaknesses and leads us to believe that we are materialistic. In our opinion, advertising affects some part of society in both harmful and useful ways. In todays world we live off of the things that the companies try to sell us. As it seems that we are presented with a new problem with the way ads are targeted to the consumer. Ads are much more than a product selling campaign, now it’s an unrealistic ideology of body perfection. This kind of product pushing comes with many different side effects that we as a consumer, might not realize. It is so detrimental that it becomes imbedded in your subconscious.
