The 9/11 Memorial has about 300,000 people visit it each year, you should be one of them to. If you go to New York the 9/11 Memorial is becoming one of the top tourist attractions in the city, and I can’t see why it's not at the top already. The 9/11 Memorial is a beautiful pool with gushing water running down its sides, and within the pool there is a smaller square pool that still has water running down to it. Just to top it off, it has trees that surround the pools, just imagine it when it’s in the fall and all the leaves turn colors and the leaves may float down and into the pool. The best part about visiting the 9/11 Memorial is that it is free! You should be one of the 300,000 a year.
What, not who, is to be blamed for 9/11? It’s very clear that the primary cause of 9/11 was the planes, hijacked by Al-Qaeda terrorists, crashing into the buildings. However, it’s also commonly known that the twin towers stood for a memorable a hundred and two minutes before crashing down from the view the manhattan skyline. So how were so many lives lost when there was so much time to escape the buildings? Many have searched for answers, and have come to conspiratorial conclusions, biased and without relatable evidence. However after reviewing the information on the attacks, one thesis stands above the rest of them; the lack of communication was responsible for the greatest loss of life. Though there are many other great points to be made
The first thing that visitors can view at the memorial is the giant pools that replace and represent where the towers once stood. The pools shine black with the water rolling to the middle of the pools. At night, the pools are lit so that the thoughts of the victims are constantly in our minds. When I looked over the edge of the pools, the image of the fallen towers rushes to my mind like the water rushing down the sides of the pools. I could almost see the towers still standing and the rushing worker bees buzzing about inside and out of them. This view was astounding.
The survivors of September 9, 2001 will never be the same. While they may be emotionally scarred from the traumatic event, physical scars will also remain on their body. Bruno Dillinger describes that many evacuators lacked skin and hair, and that many evacuators were severely burnt. Despite all the mayhem and chaos, the people in the stairwell kept their wits with them. They did not panic; they were calm. Bruno Dillinger’s description of the first responders walking up the stairs was heartbreaking. He commented, “They were going up to their death. And I was walking down to live.” Despite the fear the firefighters and other responders felt, they rose to the occasion in order to save the lives of many others. The bravery the firefighters and
It would seem there would be some exceptions which would have been considered out of bounds, well, not really though. The 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan is an educational and historical institution honoring the victims and examining 9/11 and its continued global significance.
An important event that is known to be so far the most tragic attack in American history, it left Americans with a constant fear of another terrorist attack, this tragic event is known as 9/11. This tragedy occurred when an Islamic group known as al-Qaeda attacked the World Trade Center in New York City. Al-Qaeda’s leader was Osama bin Laden, a Saudi fugitive seeking retaliation for America’s involvement in the Persian Gulf War, its support of Israel, and the military’s constant presence in the Middle East. Their plan to invade America began on the morning of September 11, 2001 when 19 militants hijacked 4 American Airline planes and were targeting attacks in the United States.
A Boeing 767 containing approximately twenty thousand gallons of jet fuel flew into the North tower of the World Trade Center in New York City on a pristine morning at 8:45 a.m. on September 11, 2001. The collision left a giant opening close to the eightieth floor of the one hundred ten story skyscraper, abruptly ending hundreds of people’s lives and trapping hundreds more in the floors above. As the evacuation of the tower and its twin- the South Tower- got underway by the local authorities, television news channels broadcasted live images of what at first appeared to be a freak accident. Then, eighteen minutes after the initial plane crashed into the tower, a second Boeing 767–United Airlines Flight 175–appeared out of the sky, turned sharply
On September 11 2001 Kristen Marcinko was at the RACC college at an federal army building in reading . The 9/11 attack was in New York City and it was a federal attack and since my mom was working in a federal building they had to evacuate because they had a chance of getting attacked.
In the attacks of 9/11, nearly 3,000 people died and this was mainly because of how easy it was to use airplanes for terrorist attacks. 9/11 security has changed drastically because of this. The terrorist attacks of 9/11 was when terrorist hijacked four planes going into four important buildings. Lucky enough, it only hit three. A big reason for this was post 9/11 security and how unsafe it was. Overall, 9/11 helped airport security and improved it.
According to David Plotz, “20 percent of Americans know or have a friend /relative who knows someone injured or killed from the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001”. Even if one doesn’t fall into the 20%, the 9/11 terrorist attacks still affects them and their country. When the planes first struck the twin towers, the employees inside had a very limited amount of time to evacuate the building. Unfortunately, nearly 3,000 people never made it out alive. This is entirely due to the lack of education/preparedness for emergency situations prior to this day. The greatest loss of life on 9/11 was caused by the incorrect survival strategies of the people within the twin towers including distractedness, unpreparedness of emergencies and elevator
One factor that contributed to the September 11 attacks is the long history of unrest between America and the Middle East. The USS Cole Bombings were basically just a warm up for Al-Qaeda to see how much they could do to the US. On October 2nd, 2000, in a port off of Yemen, suicide bombers boarded the USS Cole and blew a hole in the hull. The bombers killed 17 men. When the United States pulled from Lebanon in 1983 and their withdraw from Somalia in 1993 shocked the world but Bin Laden saw the attack and retreats in a totally different light. According to “The National Interest” Bin Laden said America was a “paper tiger” (24). He meant that as a country we look very strong and tough, but when the actual fighting starts, we will fall within a few attacks and be defeated.
WHOOSH! Flames of fire ring out from everywhere. Many citizens are confused about what just happened, but then they start to realize that planes just hit the Twin Towers. Later they realize that nine-eleven was just created. Nine-eleven was a terrible thing that happened to the U.S because many things happened and many people were affected by the actions of which created it. There are so many problems in the world and nine-eleven was one of the worst ones because there were many casualties, horrible attackers, and it was such a mess!

“I want to change my name and religion, “ little Abdul cried to her mother. “what happened son” .”I don’t like my name and religion, everyone in school think that I am a terrorist” replied Abdul . This is a story of a 7 year old boy who wants to get his religion changed because everyone think that he is a boy who will become a terrorist when he grows up. He thinks that everyone has a perception for him and he is unwanted in the society. Its is very easy to believe that muslim are terrorists but it is very hard for us to belive that we all are influenced by the media and media created a sterotype that all muslims are terrorists or they have a terrorist connection with them. The idea of this came into influence when Osama bin laden attacked United
The 911 monument is one of the greatest gifts given to us by any other nation. This monument was designed by an artist named Zurab Tsereteli. While he was watching the news he saw the towers go down. While driving to the academy of art he went past an American embassy where he saw the crying people and got the idea of a teardrop. Awhile after September 11th Zurab decided to go where the twin towers used to be. There he looked for his sight to build his monument. Unfortunately this monument was built it wasn’t reported in the news and got no
