The book Eleven Seconds by Travis Roy tells the story of how Travis Roy’s hockey career ended in eleven seconds. Travis broke his neck at a C4 level and became a quadriplegic at the age of 20. Throughout the book you learn about the physical and mental journey he takes as he learns to change his perspective to adjust to the world he now lives in. Travis was born in Maine in 1975, and from the beginning knew he wanted to be a professional hockey player. His father being a hockey coach most likely had an influence on him getting involved in hockey at such a young age. He also had a lot of opportunities most kids didn’t, for example getting to meet older hockey players with more experience,

Later on he also went to a charity game being held as a fundraiser for him where the arena was packed. He made a surprise appearance and shook hands with all the players. After his long journey he was finally home where there was now an addition on his house where he was supposed to live. Adjusting was hard, Travis felt like his life was over and this was all he had left to look forward to. Soon exactly a year after he had made his at Tabor he went back and talked about how the rules he made applied more to him now than they did when he originally wrote …show more content…
As upset as he was he never wanted the to draw attention before a game. After the first period BU was winning, but the coach and players all knew that they weren’t playing hockey like they had been the past 6 weeks. They ended up losing the game 6-4, the team wasn’t overly upset though and still went out afterwards. Travis decided to go this time and to his surprise enjoyed himself a lot more than he expected. Later on he was invited to give a speech which mostly was about what he wanted to do to help other people with paralysis. Some of the money is donated to finding a cure, and other money is donated to helping those live with paralysis live a more comfortable life. Overall everything that happened upon returning to BU helped him to rediscover
The book I read was 13 Minutes. It was written by Sarah Pinborough. It was 343 pages long.
The nine-teen year old Konecny who was selected 24th overall by the Flyers a summer ago is knocking on the door of the NHL. Konecny is a highly skilled forward who isn’t a afraid to play physical. Konecny scored 30 goals last season in the Ontario Hockey League. Konecny totaled 101 points in 60 games. Flyers General Manger Ron Hextall had this to say about Konecny “Travis is a High-Character kid. Works hard. He’s got speed and a lot of attraibutes we value. Konecny has played with both Claude Giroux and Jackub Voracek in the preseason so far and hasn’t disappointed the flyers. Konecny has 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games for the Flyers this preseason.
My book report is on Fast Forward the author is Celeste O. Norfleet. The physical setting takes place at Kenisha’s grandmother house in D.C. and the temporal setting takes place during a rough time in Kenisha’s life. In the book Fast Forward the author manipulates time to advance the storyline by putting optimistic events in the story which helps keeps the readers hopeful and confident about what is going to happen next in the story. This setting is critical to the story because the setting gives you a feel about what to predict and wonder. The tone of Fast Forward kind of stays the same throughout the story. I think the author’s theme for this story was to never give up Kenisha went through a lot but she never gave up so I think the theme
Out There tells a pensive, thought provoking and immersive story of being outdoors. In it, author Chris Townsend fleshes out his 40 year experience of climbing mountains and walking cross-country. It's the stuff that dreams are made of -- at least by travel junkies and myself.
The soda splashed all over them causing them to become soaked and in shock they ran in a startle action. Chris bolted to the locker room while the guards were distracted. A guard turned his head and saw him and ran after Chris, yelling at Chris to stop. The game finally ended while Chris was distracting the guards, so all the players were already in the locker room. Chris saw the players and grinned, but the guard came in yelling and ruined Chris’ happiness. The guard grap Chris’ arm, but before the guard can pull Chris out, Alec Asher stopped the guard and told him to leave and Chris can stay. The guard angrily walked away letting go of Chris’ arm. All the players came up to Chris and they started chatting to him .Fifteen minutes later Chris had to go and catch up with his family, but before he left he gained enough confidence to ask for an autograph by Alec Asher. Alec Asher smiled and grabbed Chris’ hat and signed his name and gave it back. Chris smiled and nodded, then left the stadium thinking about Uncle
All throughout the day he was constantly being nagged if he was actually going to fight this annoying kid but even if he wanted to pull out of it he couldn’t because he had gone past the point of no return. Thomas’s mother had packed him a massive lunch packed for him but he didn’t want to eat anything due to the fact he was sick to the stomach. As soon as the bell signalled that everyone could go down to the oval, his heart literally was in his throat. He felt as if he couldn’t even walk. He was shaking when he came to the meznine to see that he whole of his year group were already on the oval. He asked a kid what was going on but he got a reply with “You’re fighting Jake you f***ing idiot”

My book was unbelievable and incredibly good! The book title for my amazing and wonderful book is “All Summer Long” by Melody Carlson. The genre of this book is a romance, it is very sweet and all about trying to find love. My book was written in 2016. So it’s practically new! It’s so new that it hasn’t been analyzed for a Lexile number yet. The audience for this book is a mature group because it is a romantic book and about love. I think fifth grade and through any other age would be appropriate. My rating for this book would be five stars because it was a well written and executed book. It was very sweet, but suspenseful at the same time and always left me wanting more!
I never really liked The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The lion, scarecrow, and tin man were all characters that kind of freaked me. I think this had to do with their costumes, the lions faces creeped me out. As of Wicked I now there is a musical, which I have not seen. Overall, I am kind of excited to read the book.

All detective mystery novels follow a pattern. All fall under a certain subgenre of detective fiction, and to be considered a detective novel it must follow certain guidelines and outlines for a mystery novel.
