Written communication involves any type of interaction that makes use of the written word.
Different forms of writing include, letters, emails, newsletters, reports.
The basic process of communication begins when a fact or idea is observed by one person. That person (the sender) may decide to translate the observation into a message, and then transmit the message through some communication medium to another person (the receiver). The receiver then must interpret the message and provide feedback to the sender indicating that the message has been understood and appropriate action taken. Use of different forms addressed to audiences (internal and external); whether formal or informal context; urgency of response; purpose of communications, e.g. when we deal with problems and complaints, provide information to queries, follow up and after any sales that have been made. They are mostly all forms of written communication. The initial conversation we have at Abacus is verbal, but thereafter the clients then write into us, and we respond in writing.

Business emails, letters, and formal invitations – are actually similar in style. Keeping paragraphs and sentences relatively short is helpful when putting together virtually any kind of communication involving business writing.

The communication process is used in every kind of relationship. It could be in a friendship, an acquaintance, a significant other, a family, and many more. I found out these processes can be harder than you think three years ago. My father got remarried and I was forced to become up close and personal with complete strangers, my step family. Written communication helps to preserve our thoughts or feelings. We tend to use this form of writing to reminisce with others, whether it be a family member, loved one, or general audience. Being able to express those feelings through written communication allows for capturing the memory, and setting the mood of the message being conveyed.
Success in any business depends on one thing: the ability and knowledge to communicate. The knowledge of good business writing is a very important factor and part of our day-to-day business. We have to understand and take some time in writing business letters. It will require a little planning and some thought, but for the company, it can make the difference between successful and failed business deals. We must not forget that our aim is to build a lasting relationship with our internal and external clients.
