Respond in a brief essay of one or two paragraphs (fi points). OPTION 1: What roles did John Dewey, Harold Rugg, and George S. Counts play in controversies related to public school curriculum and instructional methods? OPTION 2: After the Vietham War, how has American curriculum changed in its portrayal of World War 11?7 OPTION 3: Compare Horace Mann and Lyndon B. Johnson regarding their beliefs about the societal impact of education. Your Answer: After the Vietham war, many textbooks did not include information on the battles that were fought and put more emphasis on the personal challenges of the soldiers during the war and as well as the challenges the soldiers faced realigning to civilian life. This change has occurred more for the Vietnam War than World War Il. In addition, “many curriculum theorists have become concerned that recent textbooks include few open criticisms of actions by the United States and that Americans increasingly have been shown more as victims than as perpetrators” (Smith, 2020).
