Campton, town (1990 pop. 2,377), Grafton co., central N.H., 24 mi/39 km NNW of Laconia, in White Mts.; 43°49'N 71°39'W. Drained by Pemigewasset R., Mad R. Fruit, vegetables; poultry, cattle; dairying; timber. Mfg. (printing, asphalt, apparel, aggregate and gravel processing, caskets). Three covered bridges. Parts of White Mt. Natl. Forest in NE and W. Campton Natl. Forest Campground in N. Settled c. 1765.
