Edisto River
 
 
Edisto River (ED-is-to), S S.C., formed 15 mi/24 km S of Orangeburg by junction of its North and South forks; flows 90 mi/145 km SE and S dividing into 2 channels as it enters the Atlantic Ocean, called North Edisto R. (15 mi/24 km long) and South Edisto R. (12 mi/19 km long) which form Edisto Isl. South Fork (c.65 mi/105 km long) rises SE of Johnston and flows ESE; North Fork rises W of Batesburg. Navigable. Drains 6,150 sq mi/15,929 sq km.
