Abiquiu (A-bi-kee-oo), uninc. village (1990 pop. 500), Rio Arriba co., N N.Mex., on Rio Chama, in N foothills of Valle Grande Mts., and 44 mi/71 km SSE of Tierra Amarilla; 36°13'N 106°19'W. Elev. 6,063 ft/1,848 m. Cattle, sheep; alfalfa. Built on site of pueblo ruins. In area surrounded by Carson Natl. Forest (N) and Santa Fe Natl. Forest (S). Abiquiu Dam, Ghost Ranch Visitor Center and Echo Amphitheater to NW; Georgia O’Keeffe Natl. Historic Site, home and studio of renowned artist.
